Yesterday, we held three more amazing Rising Leaders’ sessions with our fabulous Rising Leaders global cohorts on the topic of ‘How to Make Great Career Decisions’. This month's session focused on navigating key career choices and aligning decision-making with core values. We’d like to extend a HUGE thank you to our brilliant speakers: ✨ Anne Pearce Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Vestas ✨ Srimathi Shivashankar Global Head for EdTech business at HCLTech ✨ Sherry Cassano Chief Talent Officer, SVP People Experience US and International Commercial at Pfizer Here are some key takeaways from the session: 💡 Embrace Your Superpowers: Identifying your unique strengths, or ‘superpowers’, is critical to making bold career decisions. 💡 Follow Your Intuition: While data is essential, intuition plays a big role in making decisions when there’s no precedent. 💡 Project into the Future: When making tough career decisions, imagine yourself looking back on the choice in 5 years. 💡 Substance over Title: Evaluate career opportunities based on the portfolio of experiences they can provide, not just the title or reporting structure. A massive thank you to all our attendees and especially to Anne, Srimathi, and Sherry for their invaluable insights and wisdom. The WeQual Rising Leaders program drives equality in global organizations, by helping mid-level leaders tap into their full suite of skills. Don’t miss our next session—together, we’re building the future of leadership! Don’t take our word for it - here's a small sample of what our WeQual Rising Leaders members have to say: "WOW - where to start?!! Srimathi Shivashankar is another totally inspirational and awesome woman. Yesterday, I had an interview that prompted a moment of introspection. When asked about my short-term and long-term goals, I reflected on advice from a committee member during my dissertation: “Life isn’t linear, Travis. It’s okay not to know everything. I wouldn’t be here if you did. Apply grace.” I shared this perspective in the interview, expressing that while life’s path isn’t always clear, my unique skills position me for various opportunities. I aim to work in an environment that fosters creativity, supports research, engages with community, and champions social justice. Although I felt uncertain about how I presented myself, especially in a space where my honesty might have seemed unconventional, I’m reminded of the saying: “If you want to make God laugh, tell them your plans.” Embracing life’s unpredictability, I trust that I am exactly where I need to be. It’s all about taking a deep breath and going for it. #CareerJourney #ProfessionalGrowth #EmbraceTheUncertainty #CreativityInTheWorkplace #SocialJustice #ResearchOpportunities #CareerAdvice #PersonalDevelopment

You are valuable, just as you are. ✨ But we don't hear that often enough, in said or unsaid ways, as we go through our careers. So we try to fit into boxes that don't fit us, like round pegs trying to fit into square holes. I was chatting with the current Rising Leaders cohort about this topic this week. The pressure to conform to and please those who have the power to hire us is real. But the question is if we need to change core elements of ourselves to work somewhere: - Will that ultimately be a place we will remain? - Will we find a career aligned with our values? - Will we feel empowered to bring our natural strengths to the table? Chances are no. And the toll it takes on us in the meantime is real and measurable. Some organizations will embrace you just as you are. They exist. I've seen them and been in them. Don't settle for mediocrity. ❤️ ___________________________________________ ♻ Repost to remind others 📨 DM to learn more about working together ➕ Follow me for more content like this

Tiffany Jones, HackerOne Vice President of Go to Market Operations and Strategy, spoke at the Women@ employee resource group (ERG) meeting last year, sharing her unique perspective on navigating a constantly changing professional landscape. 🌟 She talked about moments throughout her career that were impactful and contributed to her personal growth, including the process of growing from a manager to a leader. "When managing a team, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks, but leading a team through change requires a different focus. To do this effectively, it's important to set aside time for strategic planning." 🔍 👉 👉 Read more about moments that mattered during Tiffany's career on the Culture + Talent Blog: https://bit.ly/3ROSHwt #HackerOneLife #leadership #inclusion #erg

HR Leader, Talent/Performance Management | Talent Acquisition | Career Management/Development | Servant Leader | Innovator | Connector | Strategic HR Business Partner & Coach
There is SO So much I LOVE about this! A few Authentic leaders/colleagues I definitely can nominate…how about you? It’s a lesson we try and instill in our kids. A vision most parents likely have. Love the shift into the vision “to be” in business too! Have you ever sensed someone wasn't being authentic? The same rings true in leading our teams. The key to having a team that has your back is to keep it real, every step of the way. I firmly believe that my team stands by me because I lead with authenticity. What they see is what they get! I'm not afraid to show vulnerability, admit when I don't have all the answers, or own up to my mistakes. Leading with authenticity means being transparent about what's happening or not. When you lead authentically, your team knows they can trust you = Strong/Trusting relationships. I can not wait to read about some of the nominated winners b Authentic inc hopefully posts to hopefully inspire others! 💫 #BeAuthentic #BeYou
We have a BIG vision, but each year we're simply taking baby steps to get there. 👓 One day, all companies will have an Authenticity Index, so you know how authentic the culture is when you're deciding to work for, or do business with, them. 👓 To kick this vision off, we established National Authenticity Day in 2021. To honor this day, we also started the annual Authenticity Awards, where we encourage people to stop their meetings and email for a hot second and give back to the authentic people and companies who inspire them. This year I'm excited to announce our next baby step -- actual award judges (yes, it might have simply been me and my team doing this before 😊) And, it only took me a hot second to put together a dream team wish list with some of the most authentic leaders I know. I'm excited to announce our inaugural Authenticity Awards judges: ⭐ Britton Bloch (she/her), VP of Talent Acquisition & Recruiting at Navy Federal Credit Union ⭐ Bruce Wallace (he/him), Chief People Officer at Newman's Own, Inc. ⭐ Maritza Gé, PM., MEP., Sr. Executive Assistant to the CEO at ATS Corporation ⭐ Julie Ann Alvarado-Dubek, Chief HR Officer at Banner Health I encourage you to follow and be inspired by them. I also highly encourage you to take 5 min out of your day (schedule it!) and nominate someone for an award. Nominations will be open until July 26th and can be done here --> https://lnkd.in/e5zV42mM #nationalauthenticityday #2024authenticityawards #authenticity #awards

A personal brand that is rooted in core values and has well established “non-negotiables”, coupled with your own acute awareness of how you are putting those things into practice, has been the topic of conversation among my sales team in the recent months. This interview with executives from the consulting and energy industries was a great read with even better insight!
I’m excited to share this great conversation I had along with William Cassidy, on the role of your personal brand in career development and, most importantly, I explain why it’s important to be “faster than a Twinkie”! #ciojournal Constellation
