Starting #StonedSanta right out of college was a happy accident - I never planned to start a company, but life led me to start one. We worked with artists, enabled them to earn and get recognised for their work, and in this process had the fortune - 1. To serve 5000 customers, 2. Get incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore, 3. Learn about Sales, writing, marketing, and most importantly about myself, and made so many mistakes in this journey, and ultimately paid the price for my sins when COVID-19 struck. and bam! I was back to ZERO. 1. I lost all our savings, 2. Lost my team-mates, and 3. Ultimately fell into depression, and felt like shit, and almost wanted to give up on life, but thankfully I was at home, with my parents, and that gave me a lot of courage, and I ultimately bounced back - Took up a job as a Marketer at an Edutech company, worked there for a few years, earned some money, got married, and a lot of good things happened in life, But the desire to build something - To give another shot at Stoned Santa kept creeping back, and ultimately I QUIT my job to rebuild my gifitng business, perhaps the BIGGEST Risk of my life so far. Starting up right out of college, when I had no responsibilities, no obligations was perhaps a lot more easier - After all I was a fresher, and even If I failed, there'd be enough companies who'll want to hire me, BUT Quitting my job at this juncture of my life - When I am married, have a family to take care of, and live in a city like Bangalore with high Fixed expenses, is perhaps one of the most difficult decisions of my life, and I am grateful to my family for supporting me in this decision, and I hope to be able to utilise this opportunity, and turn it into something nice and meaningful. The moment is here – that we’ve all been waiting for! Around every corner of India, Placements for the Batch of 2024 is coming to an end. This is how it looked like for us thus far — Our batch of 2024 had successfully attained a whopping number of 2008 placements at 167 companies in 256 days. In the first 84 days alone, 950 students received offers from 75 world’s leading firms. This year, a diverse array of sectors participated, including IT, Automotive, Banking and Financial Services, Healthtech, Retail, EdTech, Hospitality and Tourism, PR, Media and Entertainment, E-commerce and Online Retail, FMCG, Logistics, R&D, Consulting, Legal Services, and Fintech. Notably, we also welcomed some lesser-known sectors such as Energy/Utilities and Manufacturing (Sanitary Ware) into the fold. Furthermore, a significant 90% of our students found roles within their respective niches. The highest salary package offered to date stands at 52 LPA. On average, our batch secured a package of 6.8 LPA. Looking at the numbers, I must say we rode it like champions, turning challenges into opportunities. While the employment sector may have been disturbed, our determination remained undeterred. In the face of adversity, we didn't just weather the storm; we thrived it so far. I attribute it to the resilience of our students, our exceptional Campus Recruitment Training program, and need not to mention our Training and Placement Cell. It is them who helped us set an example of perseverance, adaptability, and success in the most trying of times.
