The project aims to develop #technologies and infrastructure to carry out large-scale complex tasks combining cybernetic #avatars (CAs) and to allow one person to operate more than 10 #cybernetics that will allow anyone willing to augment their physical, #cognitive, and perceptional capabilities to the top level, and spread of a new lifestyle that will be welcomed by society, by 2050. The #moonshot Research and Development Program, which is a #Japanese government initiative to promote research and development in cutting-edge technologies. 🚀 Rocket Factory Augsburg - RFA just released their latest annual report with brand new insights. Here’s what you need to know Good things first: 💰 €11 mio revenue (+100%) in 2022, mostly milestone based ESA-contracts ⏱️ Time is ticking: 80% of the €90 mio development budget have been used EOY 2023. This means by now the funds have been mostly exhausted. RFA spent well over €10 mio p.a. for employees (€8.5 mio) & financing (€1.3 mio - 400% increase YOY) in 2022. This excludes rent, travel cost and any development cost for the rocket. Both have significantly increased. 💰 Money should still be enough for 2024, but new funding required in Q1 2025, which coincides well with the “RFA Master Plan”. ⭐ Internal development according to the “RFA Master Plan” mostly on point: Q2-23: S2 Stage Test Q4-23: 2nd Stage Test, Q1-24: 1st Stage Qualification, Q3-24: 1st Launch Of note: 80% of the 125 FTEs in 2022 work exclusively for rocket & test stand (💪🏼 good quota!) with over 50 interns supporting them (wow..) Imagine the thrill—the chance to shape the very machines that explore distant planets! 🚀 NEUROSPACE GmbH gave us, Industrial Design students at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin the opportunity to design Rovers of the future. This project " Little Crawler" gave us a lot of insight as to what it means to design a space rover. These rugged explorers brave unforgiving environments, conducting experiments where no human foot has trod. Constant feedback sessions with my professors Jan Vietze and Johannes Rojahn and the engineers at NEUROSPACE GmbH have proved vital in the development of the concepts. Overall, a highly research intensive project which helped me broaden my perspective towards space equipment design.🌟

Ever wondered what the world would look like, if you could fly close to the speed of light? ⚡⚡ Nay, if speed of light was low, so that we could actually have some time to enjoy the view? 🚀 🌌 In 1958 Sir Roger Penrose - famous for the Penrose tiling - published a paper on how a spherical object would appear were it to fly at a relativistic past us. This was followed by Terrell's paper in 1959 independently discovering what is today known as Penrose-Terrell rotation. Honestly, I don't know what's the literature on relativistic visualization after this, but I know it hasn't made it into the computer games where such speeds are visualized 🤷♂️ An example is Hello Games' No Man's Sky. Anssi Kuha at Manifold Solutions has developed 3D-marcher to visualize relativistic effects - these can be superimposed on ANY 3D-model.
