Keeping It Real at Work: A Mental Health Game-Changer Just came out of a game changing workshop on mental health with Geoff McDonald, and it's got me thinking. We all know mental health is crucial, just like the daily habit of brushing our teeth, but how often do we really check in on our own mental state or even of those of our colleagues'? We learned that the signs of mental health issues can be quiet but significant - things like not sleeping well, feeling anxious, losing interest in stuff we used to love, or just acting differently. It's high time we start taking these signs as seriously as we would with a physical injury. This workshop was a real call to action to shift how we talk about mental health. It's not just about coping; it's about creating a workplace where everyone's energy and well-being are front and center - a strategic must-have. It means making "How are you?" more than just small talk - it's an open door to real talk, to listen, and to create an environment of phycological safety. Wondering why this matters so much?
