Frozen sea, thick ice, snow storms, and strikes, nothing can stop us from successfully delivering complex, over-sized cargo. Kudos to our Project Logistics teams involved and thank you #andritz for their trust! #oversizedcargo #ProjectLogistics #supplychain #projectcargo

🛳️ Navigating Challenges! #GEODIS recently completed another impressive project: transporting a massive 170-ton debarking drum from Finland to inland Sweden for #Andritz. The complex operation involved innovative solutions and greater responsiveness to deliver the 22.5x7.5 meter cargo on time and in perfect condition, ensuring uninterrupted operations for the papermill. Our dedicated Project Logistics teams faced demanding challenges: 🛑 Unexpected freezing of the Baltic Sea: The team quickly found an ice-classed vessel to navigate through the thick ice and snow storms. 🛑 Unforeseen strike among the Finnish ports: A last-minute switch of port and crew ensured the project stayed on track. Using two 150-ton cranes, we lifted a trailer onto a barge, placed the cargo on top, and secured it. In three days, we seamlessly transported the cargo from Gothenburg to its remote destination via the Swedish inland waterways and canals. Upon arrival, we safely unloaded the cargo onto the end client's quay using a heavy haulage truck and a flying bridge. Congratulations to Adam Carlsson, Ruwan Lindkvist, and the teams involved in this successful operation, which showcases innovative solutions and unparalleled service to fulfill our customers' needs!
