As part of my internship at Cognifyz Technologies, I've been assigned to examine investment patterns, focusing on duration and monitoring frequency.
Task 4: Investment Duration and Frequency
Objective: Analyze investment durations and monitoring frequencies.
Methodology:
- Holding Period Examination: I created bar charts to visualize investment duration trends. The data revealed a strong preference for medium to long-term investments. Specifically, 19 investors preferred 3-5 years duration, while 18 opted for 1-3 years. Very few chose short-term (less than 1 year) or very long-term (more than 5 years) investments.
- Monitoring Frequency Study: I used a pie chart to analyze how often investors review their portfolios. The results showed a clear trend towards monthly monitoring, with 72.5% of investors checking their investments monthly. 17.5% preferred weekly checks, while only 10% monitored daily.
Key Insights:
1. Investment Types:
- Mutual funds are the most popular investment, with 18 participants.
- Equity and Fixed Deposits follow with 10 and 9 participants respectively.
- Public Provident is the least popular, with only 3 participants.
2. Investment Duration:
- Most investments are medium to long-term.
- 19 investors prefer 3-5 years duration.
- 18 investors opt for 1-3 years duration.
- Very few choose short-term (less than 1 year) or very long-term (more than 5 years) investments.
3. Investment Monitoring Frequency:
- The majority (72.5%) monitor their investments monthly.
17.5% check weekly.
- Only 10% monitor daily.
4. Risk and Time Horizon:
- The preference for mutual funds and medium-term investments suggests a balanced approach to risk.
- Few investors opt for very short or very long durations, indicating a preference for moderate time horizons.
5. Engagement Level:
- The monthly monitoring preference suggests most investors are not overly active in managing their investments.
This analysis provides valuable insights into investor behavior, which can inform future strategies and services in the financial sector.

Hello Everyone,
► As part of my internship at Cognifyz Technologies, I conducted an in-depth analysis of the reasons why individuals choose to invest.
✨ 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝟓 : Reasons of Investment
➡️𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 : To analyze and visualize the primary reasons driving investment decisions.
➡️ 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐈 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 :
✤ 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 :
𖧹 I Identified common reasons for investment, such as Better Returns, Fund Diversification, and Tax Benefits.
𖧹 Analyzed the dataset to find patterns and frequencies of these reasons.
✤𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 :
𖧹 I Created detailed charts in Power BI to display the distribution and frequency of investment reasons.
𖧹 Visualized how investment durations and monitoring frequencies vary by reason.
➡️𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 :
➤ 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 is the dominant reason for investment, indicating that investors are primarily motivated by high potential gains.
➤ 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is also a significant reason, suggesting that investors are interested in spreading their risks across various assets.
➤𝐓𝐚𝐱 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 is the least common reason, implying it is not a primary motivator for most investors in the dataset.
💠𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 :
➤ The majority of investments, regardless of reason, are held for 3-5 years.
➤ A significant portion also prefers a 1-3 year duration.
➤ Very few investors hold investments for less than 1 year or more than 5 years.
💠𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 :
➤ Most investors prefer to monitor their investments monthly, indicating a preference for regular but not overly frequent oversight.
➤ Weekly and daily monitoring are less common, suggesting these are either less necessary or less feasible for most investors.
✨ These insights can help in understanding the primary motivations and behaviors of investors, which can be useful for financial planning and advising.

Excited to share my first task as a Business Analyst Intern at Cognifyz Technologies!
For my first challenge ( Level 1: Task 1 & Task 2) I dived into understanding data structures by overviewing the data and applying that knowledge to visualize gender distribution in a dataset.
Data structures are the foundation of how data is stored and organized, making it easier to extract valuable insights. I worked with tools like pandas and plots to analyze the dataset and create a clear visualization of gender distribution.📊
The below video shows the processes and a clear explanation of how I performed the tasks step by step as required.
See you in the next challenge! 🤭
