Dutch article on the electric vehicle market in the Netherlands. Knowledge and innovation center Elaad NL envisions 10 million electric vehicles and over 4 million charging points in The Netherlands by 2050, moving from 5% electric cars now to 100% by 2050. Despite slower growth predictions by ElaadNL and KPMG, challenges like grid capacity and insufficient charging infrastructure in Europe, along with geopolitical developments, are seen as temporary hurdles in a major transition towards electric mobility, emphasizing the inevitability of an electric future. The largest energy performance contract in Flanders !

The word is out today! Amsterdam will impose stricter requirements on company vans and trucks: For new vehicles, the zone within the S100 will become emission-free as of January 1, 2025; transitional arrangements and exemptions are possible for existing vehicles. Together with loads of Amsterdam based companies we have come to an agreement that we will introduce a phased approach in order to improve the air quality in Gemeente Amsterdam. In 2028 we aim to further expand the zone to the RingA10. 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟭,𝟰𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝘂𝗺. According to the Department of Mobility and Public Works, a total of 1,423 applications were submitted within the first three hours. However, not all of these applications will qualify for the subsidy, as some may not meet the criteria or have been submitted incorrectly. The subsidy amounts to €5,000 for newly purchased electric cars and €3,000 for second-hand ones. To be eligible for the subsidy, electric vehicles must meet certain criteria, including being registered from January 1, 2024, onwards and having been ordered no earlier than September 25, 2023. Both new and second-hand cars qualify, with the latter needing to have been in use for between three to eight years. Metropoolregio Amsterdam: "Two years ago, there were discussions about the role of data and digitisation in mobility challenges🚗. Now, it is more or less normal to use them. We are all becoming increasingly convinced that data and digitisation lead to more sustainable 🌱 and efficient solutions. For example, the Road Monitoring project illustrated how we can use vehicle data from Mercedes to identify unsafe situations on the road. And the Regional Tactical Team showed how their dashboard provides insight into the status of our infrastructure networks." So a big big NO to a second term of 5 years for the green Minister Elke van den Brandt ! We need realistic projects that improve mobility for cyclists and cars. Professionally defined and measurable. No more wasting of money in Brussels. Green ministers seem to have too much focus on ideology and too little on common sense ! And Brussels is focused on silly huge prestige projects instead of properly maintaining what exists. Focus on what gets results please ! Today we are in top 10 of worst mobility in the world !!

I personally believe that the use of hydrogen as energy/fuel storage for small and medium sized vehicles will play a more important role than thought of by many today. It is great to see that we are exploring this possibility and will be able to contribute to the energy transformation.
