𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿𝘀: 𝗔 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻( 𝗙𝗙 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺)🛢️ ### 𝗥𝗲𝗷𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁-𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 ⚙️🔋 The offshore platform, which had been closed for nearly a decade,  is on stream now. In 2024, GPC decided to take bold steps in revitalizing the platform by targeting unconventional reservoirs known to be more challenging . ### 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲: 𝗔 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 🔧💡 The first well  in the campaign targeted the  Eocene reservoir, a formation known for its production potential but also its complex characteristics. After extensive planning and preparation, the well was successfully brought online, producing  200 barrels per day (bpd). 📈 ### 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿: 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 🏁 Following the success with the Eocene reservoir, the technical team turned its attention to another promising target: Matulla reservoir which had been previously identified as a conventional producer. The second well was evaluated and successfully produced 700 bpd. ### 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵: 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 🔓💎 However, the decision was to evaluate  the second well on the brown limestone formation was a game-changer. The well produced more than 500 bpd from brown limestone formation, a remarkable achievement that exceeded initial expectations. This production milestone not only unlocked the potential of the brown limestone but also set a high bar for future  development within the field. 🏆📊 ### 𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 🌟🎯 The success of the brown limestone well became a key milestone in the campaign, marking a pivotal moment in the rejuvenation of the offshore platform. The technical team's ability to unlock a previously untapped resource demonstrated their **𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴** and **𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆**, while proving that unconventional reservoirs can be managed successfully with the right expertise and tools. ### 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 🔮🛠️ Following the success of the **𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯**, the team is now evaluating how to scale up production and optimize field development. With the platform now producing from multiple unconventional reservoirs, GPC’s technical team is looking at ways to integrate these new findings into a comprehensive field development plan. The Kotri North Joint Venture, consisting of United Energy Pakistan Limited (the operator with a 50% working interest), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (40% working interest), and Asia Resources Oil Limited (10% working interest), has successfully discovered hydrocarbons at its exploratory well, Takri-1, located in District Jamshoro, Sindh Province. Drilling at the Takri-1 exploration well commenced on November 11, 2024, and reached a total depth of 4,156 feet (Measured Depth) to assess the hydrocarbon potential in Late Cretaceous/Early Paleocene Sands. Encouraged by the findings from wireline logs and drilling data, Modular Dynamic Testing (MDT) was performed on promising zones, confirming the presence of hydrocarbons within the interbedded sandstones of the Khadro Formation (Paleocene Age). Following the MDT results, the well was perforated and completed in the Khadro Formation. Completion Integrity Testing (CIT) was carried out, and hydrocarbons were produced at a flow rate of 2.4 Million Standard Cubic Feet Per Day (MMscfd) of gas with a Flowing Wellhead Pressure (FWHP) of 1,053 psig on a 20/64″ choke. The discovery at Takri-1 has unveiled a new prospect for hydrocarbon exploration within the Paleocene Khadro sands in the region. The beginning of the next wave of project sanctions that continue to unlock the production potential of the Paleogene, Kaskida was a 2006 discovery with reservoir pressures beyond the technology of the day. BP is also anticipating the sanction of its 2009 discovery Tiber in 2025. What this also does is extend the infrastructure of the Gulf of Mexico as Kaskida will require a new hub to bring into production. Our client engagements range from small quarries to medium size quarries, to 300 square miles of distributed assets. We support mining operations, geohazards and landslides monitoring, corridor awareness and monitoring, global #TSF deposition assessments and analysis, biomass aggregation and association with hydrogeography, land surface temperature, and terrain displacement. We brought much of this together last week in Ontario, Canada for a client with a little of this, a little of that, and looking at site production out ~40 + years ! This collated data and alignment exercise will culminate in a project report, our observations, client inputs, and their review of the process, product, and opportunity for moving to proactive site management. A considerable field of coverage (data-wise), and a humble realization of sensor, temporal, and deliverables limits, budgets, and looking for the effective message in the process of #do_diligence, where #due_diligence had been and was resulting in ongoing challenges despite annual engagements of same-old, same-old annual visit, suggestions .. and a whole lot of day to day realities getting lost along the way. Our data all goes into the EOR and or site responsible 3rd part evaluation process. 🎉 Congratulations to Wellesley Petroleum on #Gnomoria Appraisal Discovery! 🎉 We're thrilled to extend our congratulations to our client, Wellesley Petroleum, and their license partner Equinor on the recent discovery in the Gnomoria Appraisal (35/10-12 S) well in the North Sea, approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Florø. Our dedicated #wellsitegeologists played a crucial role in this campaign aboard the #COSLPromoter, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise gathered from analysing and delivering over 200 wells on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Key Highlights 👇❗ ⚡Discovery size: preliminary estimates suggest the discovery holds between 0.8 to 4 million standard cubic metres of recoverable oil equivalent (Sm3 o.e.), which translates to 5 to 25 million barrels o.e. 📍Strategic location: Gnomoria is situated in an area with multiple discoveries, and the licensees are evaluating the potential for a tie-back to existing infrastructure. 📝 Well details: Drilled to a vertical depth of 3,346 metres below sea level (3,805 metres measured depth below sea level) and terminated in the Heather Formation in the Upper Jurassic. 🌊 Water depth: The site is 363 metres deep. ✅ Operations: The well has been permanently plugged and abandoned. While it was not formation tested, extensive data acquisition and sampling were conducted. PPL discovers hydrocarbons at Pateji X-1, Shah Bandar Block, Sindh We are excited to announce that Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has achieved another significant milestone with a second major gas and condensate discovery at its exploratory well, Pateji X-1, in Shah Bandar Block, District Sujawal, Sindh. This marks the fourth consecutive hydrocarbon discovery in the block operated by PPL, holding 63% working interest (WI) alongside joint venture partners Mari Petroleum Company Limited (32% WI), Sindh Energy Holding Company Limited and Government Holdings (Private) Limited (2.5% WI) each. Following the initial discovery from the Upper Sand (D-Sand) reservoir, further testing of Upper Sands in the Lower Goru Formation confirmed a promising hydrocarbon zone. Drilling results and wireline log data led to testing, yielding an impressive flow rate of 12.4 MMscfd gas and 196 bbl/d condensate at 2,551 psig wellhead pressure on a 32/64” choke from C-Sand reservoir. Pateji X-1 was spud on October 11, 2024 after detailed geological and geophysical evaluations and was drilled to a depth of 2,475 meters to explore the potential of the Lower Goru Formation. These successive discoveries highlight PPL's technical expertise and dedication to enhancing Pakistan's energy security.
