TGS Requests License for Potiguar-Ceará 3D Streamer Following up on recent news from seismic surveys in the 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧, TGS has requested another license focusing on extending the Ceará 3D project, including NW Potiguar and SE Ceará offshore basins. According to the project's documents, the survey has a proposed acquisition area of approximately 21,083.15 km², and activities are expected to begin in July 2026. The region only includes 5 drilled wells, out of which only one well showed oil and gas indications (Pecem prospect) back in 2012-2013. That well was drilled by Petrobras on the BM-CE-2 block, which was later relinquished in 2015. In July 2022, the block CE-M-603, previously operated by 3R Petroleum in consortium with AziBras Exploração de Petróleo e Gás Ltda., was the last one relinquished in the area. Nowadays, the area does not include active assets nor blocks on Open Acreage. #TGS #EquatorialMargin #PotiguarBasin #drilling #Petrobras #3RPetroleum #Azibras #OpenAcreage #oilandgas #oil #seismic #Katalystdm #Geopost

“Man Alive” - This unit has travelled some mileage carrying out solid campaign after campaign with zeal - No doubts this unit continues to show its bang for buck… Stena Drilling and its mighty Ultra Deepwater beast the Stena Forth has spud its latest mission. The unit spudded the Anchois East -3 for Energean offshore Morocco. The drilling campaign and well testing ops are expected to take a couple of months. This is a multi-objective well; an initial pilot hole is being drilled to assess the potential of the Anchois Footwall prospect in an undrilled fault block to the east of the main field. The partnership is targeting a prospective resource of 170 Bcf in the main O sand. A side-track will follow to intersect and further evaluate proven gas sands in the eastern part of the main fault block of the field (estimated 2C resource of 637 Bcf). Next, the well will penetrate the deeper Anchois North Flank prospect, with an additional 2U resource of 213 Bcf, and will also de-risk the nearby Anchois South Flank prospect (2U resource estimated at 372 Bcf). Stena Forth will conduct a flow test on certain encountered gas sands to examine reservoir and well productivity. The well will then be suspended for use as a potential future producer. #oilandgas #innovation #management #mpd #drilling

Exclusive Petrobras readies more drilling, sees Caribbean Sea gas discovery as big enough to develop Brazilian company to begin new two-well campaign in Colombia later this month Petrobras exploration and production director Joelson Falcao MendesPhoto: PETROBRAS Fabio Palmigiani South America CorrespondentHouston Updated 7 May 2024, 16:45 Petrobras is confident the Uchuva natural gas discovery offshore Colombia could spark its own production development facility, as the Brazilian oil giant gears up to spud two new wells in Caribbean waters. Petrobras in July 2022 made the Uchuva-1 find in 864 metres of water with the Transocean semi-submersible rig Development Driller III. The discovery happened as Petrobras had almost quit its operations in Colombia. Details about the discovery’s size were never disclosed, but consultancy Westwood Global Energy estimates Uchuva-1 holds between 3 trillion and 5 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas at depths of more than 5000 metres.

This day in history 📖✒️ The first offshore well drilled in the Gulf of Mexico's Creole Field was a significant milestone in the development of offshore oil exploration and production in the region. The Creole Field is located offshore Louisiana, USA, in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The discovery of oil in the Creole Field marked the beginning of offshore oil exploration in the Gulf of Mexico. The well, known as Creole No. 1, was drilled by Kerr-McGee Corporation in 1947. This well was situated in relatively shallow waters, at a depth of around 12 feet (3.7 meters), which was considered offshore at the time. Creole No. 1 was drilled using conventional drilling techniques of the era, including rotary drilling methods. It encountered significant oil reserves, marking the first major offshore oil discovery in the Gulf of Mexico. This discovery sparked interest in further exploration and development of offshore oil and gas resources in the region. #ThisDayInHistory #OilandGas #Offshore #TheGlobalEdge #Drilling #GulfOfMexico

PETRONAS Drills First Well in Brazil Earlier this year, in June, PETRONAS granted a drilling license for block C-M-661 in Campos deepwater. The drillship Valaris Renaissance is already on site to drill the first well in an asset operated by the company in Brazil, identified as 1-PPBL-1-RJS (MOLA-1). This license also covers multiple contingent wells and drill stem tests depending on results. The area is located near Suçuarana well, drilled in June by Shell, which indicated the presence of gas, and near TotalEnergies' block C-M-541, where both Marolo-1 and Ubaia-1 were drilled last year. Our geoscience team has selected some legacy seismic lines, shown below, in order to illustrate the potential targets in the area. #Petronas #Shell #TotalEnergies #oilandgas #oil #drilling #brazil #Mola1 #geoscience #well #geopost #katalystdm

Chariot Limited Ltd (AIM:CHAR, OTC:OIGLF) told investors it has begun drilling operations at the Anchois gas project, offshore Morocco. The drillship has arrived at the site, and drilling of the Anchois-3 well has commenced. The well, Anchois-3, is designed with multiple objectives. It will see a vertical pilot well drilled, evaluating the Footwall prospect, estimated to have 170 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas. With a side-track from the pilot, Chariot plans to further appraise the main Anchois resource, currently estimated at 637 Bcf of contingent resources. Also the Anchois North Flank prospect, estimated at 213 bcf, will also be targeted. Flow testing will be conducted to evaluate the productivity of the well. It is intended that the well can be used as a future production site. Well operations are expected to take approximately two months to complete. "We are very pleased to commence this highly anticipated well at... More at #Proactive #ProactiveInvestors http://ow.ly/kFjr105G4G4
