Meet Russian wrestler Dinara Kudayeva, who was allowed to participate in the Olympics and whose father was a soldier in the Russian army (!) and was KIA on May 9th. Dinara mourned his death on Instagram, calling him "my hero". But the Olympic Committee still considers her to be neutral. #BanRussianAthletes

This years plan to attend started 5 December 2023, ping, the WhatsApp group sprung into action once again! Within 2 hours and around a dozen messages later, it’s on. UJC is already booked (no surprise there) By mid Feb our party of 6 is all paid up and swingers for the Royal Navy Fieldgun Reunion secured, well done Paul. The operation from Friday to Sunday is now being dusted off, after many years the op is well worn in, but as we all know, the Army Navy game weekend plan never survives first contact with a beer! Friday train from up north to Euston, beer on the train, meet the rest of the squad at the station, I couple of pints to get our bearings, then tube time to the digs, the its preparation for Friday night, UJC hole in the wall, plans start to wobble, but still arrive for a curry. Saturday, pregame route, takes in the usual watering holes, Red Cow, Orange Tree, The Sun Inn, tick, Richmond sorted. Transport now the HQ, spend as much time as possible walking the West car park. How often have I caught up with people walking round that place. Them it’s time to head into see the remaining people who committed so much to the best recruiting tool they Royal Navy ever had. To all those who walked through the double doors, I salute you, Bravo Zulu. As kick off approaches, it’s time to grab a beer or 2 for the stands, don’t need anything else, half time won’t be long, but first, it’s time to join a packed house in the national anthem. If you haven’t had the pleasure to experience 80,000 all singing a single national anthem then you are missing out, I’ve seen it bring tears to peoples eyes, it is inspiring. Kick off, well now things get difficult, there is certainly no expectation the the Royal Navy will come out on top, but typically, hopes are raised by a great performance in the first half, how the final 20 minutes plays out, well that’s the heartache, for at least one team. Play well Navy, play not so well Army. I know it will be a special occasion regardless of the outcome. Final whistle, a quick critique of the game. Nothing bias of course! Then we head back into the smoke. Plans now become fluid, literally. Covent Garden is a potential ally now, always a little fussy, Bed….. Sunday the return home, this year as engineering works disrupted “The Plan” 10 hours on rail replacement services to get back!!!! New plan, I will drive….. much better to take one for the team and ensure the weekend proceeds in an orderly manner. Just means less beer. To those attending enjoy the weekend, for those who cannot attend due to being operational. I thank you for your service.
After an incredible win by the Royal Navy men’s team last year, the annual Army Vs Navy rugby match returns to Twickenham on Saturday 4th May! ⏱ Men's KO: 14:00 ⏱ Women's KO: 16:45 Will you be there? 🏉 -------------------------------- Video credit: BFBS

An inspiring story of Dan Cnossen, a Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander and 6-Time Paralympic Medalist. Dan's inspiring story is a testament to his resilience and mental toughness. After losing both his legs in a tragic incident during a mission in Afghanistan, Dan didn't let this setback define him. Instead, he used his experience to help others achieve their goals and overcome tough obstacles. During one of his interactions, Dan shared tangible simple steps to set and achieve goals Focusing on the now – taking things one step at a time. Not dwelling on the past or what may happen in the future. Focusing on the good – celebrating the wins, no matter how big or how small. Life is having simple rules but we complicate. Be a leader of your life. #Resilience #LeadershipSkills #mindset
