for any CEO hired into a "rebuild" situation, there are crucial lessons to learn from the "rebuild" of CU Boulder College football program. - do not accept a rebuild position unless ownership is willing to give you the resources to make big changes - break things everywhere, quickly and decisively, out with the old! - make your prior record interesting by contrasting it with future potentiality - be a non-conformist, stand out from the crowd and attract talent - "I don't think, I know." mentality that starts from the top an permeates through every member of the team A dying startup is not exactly the same as a football team that was 1-11, but leadership is leadership and the heart and soul of a team matters. #startups #rebuild https://lnkd.in/dpwqRtds

Empathy Driven Solutions Provider: Software Development, Crombie's Ambassador | International Trade Consultant and Professor, Imports & Exports| IBS WorldWide | Olympic Weightlifting coach | Flag Football QB
Let me take you back to 2017—a year that would mark the beginning of my love affair with Texas, football, and, surprisingly, my first cowboy hat. Many years later, I'm still wearing my hat in the Crombie offices every day. I found myself in Houston, Texas, for the first time. I was there to attend the National Football League (NFL) playoffs—Houston Texans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers. The energy, the excitement, the community spirit—it was all so new to me, and I couldn’t help but be swept up in it. But there was one moment that stood out: buying my first cowboy hat. Wandering through the city before the game, I came across a small shop that seemed to encapsulate everything I was beginning to love about Texas. Inside, I found a cowboy hat that just spoke to me. It wasn’t just a hat; it was a symbol of the boldness, the pride, and the deep connection that Texans have with their culture. Placing that hat on my head, I felt like I was part of something much bigger—a community, a tradition, a story that I was now a part of. That experience stayed with me, and today, working at Crombie, I realize that the values I encountered in Texas are the same ones we champion here. At Crombie, our empathy-driven approach means we don’t just create software; we create connections. We take the time to understand our clients, their challenges, and their aspirations, much like how I took the time to understand the culture of Texas. Just as that cowboy hat made me feel like I belonged, our work at Crombie makes our clients feel understood and valued. We don’t just build products; we build relationships. By putting ourselves in our clients' shoes, we ensure that the solutions we create are not only technically sound but also deeply meaningful and impactful. So, whether it’s the connection I felt when I first donned that cowboy hat or the connections we create every day at Crombie, it all comes down to understanding, empathy, and a commitment to something greater. That’s what makes Crombie special, and that’s what drives us to deliver software that truly makes a difference. #EmpathyDriven #SoftwareDevelopment #Entrepreneur #Startups
