This divergence raises critical questions: Can advances in nuclear energy keep pace with energy-hungry AI and other rapidly growing technologies? 🔬 Nuclear Startups and the Quest for Green Energy: Enter Oklo, a nuclear startup backed by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI. Yes, the same plant that experienced the worst nuclear accident in US history. This unprecedented step prompts a crucial question: what are the true energy costs of our AI ambitions? The answer, it seems to me, is "more than we think." Despite advancements in efficiency, our appetite for AI processing power continues to grow. This reminds me of Jevons paradox: as technology becomes more efficient, we tend to use more of it, not less. I am not inherently opposed to nuclear power.
