Application Development and Regulatory Manager || Ing. PhD || Food, Feed, Bio-based || Fats, Oils, Proteins, Emulsifiers, Algae, Plant-Based Ingredients ||
I woke up today, to some breaking-news, at least 3 different sources explicitly claiming or implying that: Decaf coffee is linked to cancer and will be banned in the US, to begin with. Let's debunk the myths! Misinformation often spreads like wildfire, but rest assured: there's no link between decaf coffee and cancer, and the chances of it being banned are close to zero. Some of the study findings and the ongoing US regulatory bodies activities are targeting a commonly used solvent in decaffeination: methylene chloride or dichloromethane. This is however, only one solvent and method, among many others to remove the caffeine from the coffee beans. Sensational headlines may grab attention, but true journalism is about accuracy, not click-baiting. As our knowledge evolves, so do our practices, often driven by regulatory updates. Decaf coffee isn't going anywhere; it's just evolving. If you're a coffee aficionado, like myself, you know that eco-friendly and green decaffeination processes like Swiss Water exist, just to name one example. So our cup of coffee is safe, for now, at least. https://lnkd.in/eCxQr4z2 https://lnkd.in/eSfGxuyV https://lnkd.in/erNDCu4c

CEO at Bright Sky House | Bringing hidden stories to light | Owner Bio-One of Asheville and Bio-One of Colorado
In a light-hearted moment on the recent New Heights Podcast, NFL star Jason Kelce amusingly admitted to being a bit of a hoarder. This candid revelation provides an intriguing lens through which we can explore the various levels of hoarding behavior. (Link to the clip: https://lnkd.in/gGPWUcYa) Hoarding, often seen as a trivial habit, can range from mild cluttering to severe accumulation that disrupts daily life. Kelce's confession, while humorous, touches on a universal truth: we all have our unique tendencies to hold onto things, be it physical items, memories, experiences... or fan gifts, if you're a famous football player. In the professional realm, this can manifest as reluctance to delegate tasks, reluctance to adopt new technologies, or an inability to discard outdated business practices. The key, as Kelce's light-hearted approach reminds us, is awareness and balance. Understanding our hoarding tendencies can lead to more efficient, organized, and productive work environments. It's about finding that sweet spot between keeping what's valuable and letting go of what no longer serves us. Learn more about the 5 level of hoarding in the blog post below!
