The bell rings. Fire drill. Everyone out. It's not anyone's idea of fun, particularly on a wet February morning. But we know it's important that in a moment of crisis there is a plan that can be executed effectively. Charities are common targets of fraudsters and it's incumbent on trustees to consider this risk. Having discussed and considered a response plan can help charities respond quickly and effectively to the fraud threat. Read below to see an outline of what a response plan could look like. Charitable institutions that offer anonymous/guest donations are especially vulnerable to card-testing fraud. Another big issue that they face is fake donations that are almost immediately followed by a dispute. Payment service gateways charge excessive fees when transactions go into dispute. These disputes, when added up, can kill fledgling charitable institutions and hurt their ability to continue to do good. It's great to see easy-donate talk about these challenges.
