"Live or Die." There is no inbetween with me. Every day I am above ground, I promise to live life to the fullest. When I die, it will be without regret and my tank will be empty. Semper Fidelis
I am now a candidate for the Pasco County Mosquito Control District Seat 1 which will be decided November 5th. https://lnkd.in/gR-6RX5c We need another Pasco County Mosquito Control District debate between the candidates. One where ALL THE CANDIDATES participate. This video is telling but it does not tell the whole story. The Two Incumbent Commissioners should have been there to have their side of the story told. Right or Wrong, they are currently your elected representatives for this "special" taxing district. We have a great County asset that just needs fiscal leaders to guide them into a strategic position to provide the services they are legislatively required to give. If we can adjust their spending habits and create an environment of innovation and collaboration then PCMCD may still be in existence next election cycle. Failure to get their spending habits in check and there will no longer be a special taxing district and this service will be dumped on an already bloated County government. It's not a hard task if we elect America First, TEA party candidates come November 5th. Vote for David Wallis PCMCD Seat 1 and Gary Joiner for Seat 3. Together we can get this fixed lickity split.

Not often I post this type of thing as my style is I generally an ego-fee and under the radar way. Today, Age UK East Sussex’s senior management spent an amazing half day thinking about how we might achieve our draft 2024-27 (or maybe 2029) strategic aim of strengthening our impact & resilience. We’ve had some amazing insights from local older people, and our staff, volunteers and trustees - backed by some compelling evidence from (our national partner) Age UK, East Sussex County Council’s engagement about Adult Social Care, and other insight that has helped. We know there’s rising demand & complexity of need. There’s a severely financially stressed heath & care system, a cost-of-living crisis and other challenges (of course). So, the basic question is what are we going to do? Watch this space…

We are already gearing up for the 21st Annual QRSI next summer! Get excited with us by learning a bit about the course “Designing and Implementing Qualitative Social Justice Projects” with Rashawn Ray: "In this course, participants will learn qualitative approaches to better position efforts to design and collect data specifically aimed at contributing directly to social justice. Three timely issues—racial disparities in policing, health disparities, and men’s treatment of women—will be paralleled throughout the course as examples of how decision-making across the methodological life of a qualitative project can be leveraged to address social problems." The cost of living crisis is biting hard and we are all increasingly having difficult conversations with clients about money. These conversations can leave us feeling bruised, exasperated and sometimes frustrated. In our panel, chaired by Rosamund Ford, Ian Futter, Rebecca Martin and I will discuss some thoughts about this issue. I’ll look at what influences our approach to money and do some myth busting how we think about our approaches to these conversations. And, of course, we want to hear from you too! #CostOfLivingCrisis #VeterinaryCommunication #mythbusting #SharedDecisionMaking #ContextulaisedCare

We convened leading academics, government officials, and funders to map out what a ten-year research program for atrocity prevention strategies and tools could look like. Many called for more analysis of the effects of different sequences or combinations of policy actions, as well as an expanded atrocity prevention toolbox.
