Show me an awesome leader who gets stuff done who doesn’t have evidence of this. Yeah, pretty hard to do. Great leaders know what needs to be done, have clear measurements about how to get there and create clear, trackable initiatives to get there.
They use evidence and data to make sure they get stuff done.
What gets measured gets done.
If we want great places to work. We have to have data-driven leaders. Every single day.
Data-driven leaders give their attention to the things that matter the most:
- They don’t avoid the hard stuff
- They use objective and relevant measures to make decisions
- They align the organisations strategy to produce results that matter
They focus on people and results. And they measure both of them. With equal value. This is the seesaw of leadership. Leaning into to both.
We know we need focus on both for a workplace to be at its best.
If we just focus on results you get disengaged people. And ironically over time the results will suffer.
If we just focus on people you get little results. And ironically, eventually the team will get disengaged.
Are you a people-focused organisation or focused on results? Both of them are valuable and without them you can’t create a kickass culture and build amazing teams. If you don’t know, you are not measuring it. Just sayin’.
We’ll be talking about all of these things and more at the P&C Circle. Join an upcoming info session with me to find out more. You’ll get to have conversations that matter, with a community that inspires.
