Our public healthcare system is complex. Just like any systems, there are efficiencies that can be extracted. Unfortunately, most of the population has never worked within the healthcare system and yet we expect them to find their ways through when they or their loved ones are unwell. At Gotodoctor.ca, combining our Service Engine technology (unique datasets and algorithms) and physical care network (~300 community pharmacies and clinics), we have been able to remove frictions for members and help them to navigate to their care they need faster. From finding a new family physician to coordinate care for a faster biopsy appointment, our team has shown that utilizing the additional resources available in the private benefit coverage to enhance the public health services is possible, without creating a parallel system. Check out the first video of our new "Why Wait" campaign series. Let work together so we can make our healthcare system sustainable and better for our patients. #publichealthcare #publicprivatecare #serviceengine #physicalcare #waittime

🔥🔍 Redefining Patient Compliance🔍🔥 In the world of patient care, it's often us against the misconceptions. At Prosidio, aligned with dedicated Otolaryngologists, we're tearing down these barriers with clear, undeniable visuals. As the founder of Prosidio, and a practicing ENT, I wanted to highlight a noteworthy study from "Applied Clinical Informatics" (https://zurl.co/8beV) that sheds light on a key insight. One that I have noted in own my practice: When patients actually see their medical conditions, their compliance isn't just a hopeful guess—it's a reality. This isn't groundbreaking; it's just common sense made visible. We're not here to play by the outdated rules of patient care. Prosidio's cutting-edge endoscopic technology isn't just a tool; it's a testimony. An affirmation that patient understanding isn't a luxury—it's a necessity. We empower Otolaryngologists to not just tell, but show. Show the reality, the condition, the path to better health. It's about flipping the script, turning passive patients into active health allies. We stand with Otolaryngologists in this fight. It's time to challenge the status quo, to make the unseen seen, to turn uncertainty into clarity. This is our rally cry. Join us, and let's show the world what real patient compliance looks like. Because for our patients, it's not just about seeing; it's about believing. 🔥 #Prosidio #Otolaryngology #PatientCompliance #VisualEmpowerment #HealthcareRevolution #PatientEngagement

We have received questions from radiology practices about how best to care for patients who are unable to "stand and pivot." The challenges these practices faced have been due to a lack of equipment, staffing, or insufficient space (e.g., for a hoyer lift). This is an important reminder for radiology practices to review their current processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure equal access and reasonable modifications are in place. For example, are ther lternative procedures or equipment that can be used by patients who cannot stand or pivot? Can the schedule be modified to allow for additional time for patients with disabilities to transfer or use assistive devices? Are staff properly trained how to assist patients with disabilities?

Future of surgery or telemedicine or advanced surgical techniques 😀 Seriously, in every corner of our country, quack doctors—individuals who practice medicine without the requisite qualifications—are increasingly prevalent. Despite existing laws and regulations designed to curb their activities, these quacks continue to thrive, posing significant risks to public health. The alarming rise in their numbers highlights a critical gap in our healthcare system: the lack of widespread awareness and education about diseases and their proper treatments. #StopQuackery #HealthAwareness #SafeHealthcare

There is a great explanation of the role of academic medical centers in our healthcare system at the end of the presentation.
The History of the Mayo Clinic is Very Relevant to Employee #HealthPlans Today. The Founder of the Mayo Clinic, Dr. W. W. Mayo, Believed that #FeeForService Would #Bias the #Judgement of Doctors. Therefore, from the Very Beginning, the Mayo Clinic Always Had Its Doctors on #SALARY. The Mayo Clinic Also Has Its Specialists Coordinate Their Care AROUND the #Patient, Rather Than Having the Patient 'Ping-Pong' from One #Specialist to the Next. The Mayo Clinic Believes in the Early Adoption of Scientifically #Proven New Techniques and Innovations. Example: The Mayo Clinic Was One of the First Hospitals in America to Adopt #Sterile Technique for Surgery and Dramatically Lowered Operative Infections. The Point: While Employers Cannot Send Every Health Plan Member to the Mayo Clinic, the Local #Academic Medical Center--that 1) Has Its Doctors on Salary, 2) Coordinates Care with the Patient at the Center and 3) Adopts Scientifically Proven Processes--May Be the Next Best Alternative for Patient Care Over a Local Community Hospital.
