In our latest work, we designed a Model predictive Controller for UAVs for trajectory tracking and collision avoidance using a Chebyshev pseudospectral method. Unlike the standard MPC, we approximate the state and control histories by Lagrange interpolating polynomials and avoid numerical integration for state prediction using the collocation method. By using automatic differentiation, code generation, and complex software tweaks, we generated a problem-specific MPC solver to significantly speed up the computation times to the order of milliseconds. The real-time capabilities and performance of our MPC design are validated by indoor experiments. Check out the video link for the demo https://lnkd.in/emND2KQD
