To everyone involved in the Buildex Alberta conference and tradeshow, Thanks for a great event. One of the key presentations for us at Blue Branch was T16: Construction Keynote: Talent Attraction & Retention: Creating a Construction Industry to Compete for Tomorrow's Workforce The construction industry is expecting a 43,000+ labor shortfall by 2032. A province that is expected to grow from 4.6 million to over 5 million as quickly as 2025 needs infrastructure, housing, and a robust construction workforce. We've all felt the pressure of the growth from 4.16 in 2020 to 4.65 in 2023. Alberta needs workers, now more than ever. Blue Branch has a solution, our Super-Commuting Workforce Solution. https://lnkd.in/gfZkGMdD https://lnkd.in/gB3Pk2jU https://lnkd.in/gjY66iZS

We've recently added seven new Key Resource Areas (KRAs) to the 167 current sites in Queensland crucial for our state's development. These locations contain extractive resources like sand, gravel, rock, clay, and soil necessary for construction, infrastructure development and post-disaster recovery. KRAs are an essential planning tool designed to protect these resources from becoming inaccessible due to urban expansion. Queensland produces around 50 million tonnes of the resources annually. The new KRAs, plus extensions to two existing areas, will protect an additional 985 million tonnes for the future, replacing depleted resources and supporting the needs of our growing communities. You can view Queensland's KRAs using GeoResGlobe 👉 https://lnkd.in/eM--s9P

A scarce resource in times of need or what is missing, is cultural heritage experts with the right mindset and sensitivity to fulfill the requirements of the new legislation? In this case, capacity building would be a possible solution...
Having worked in Cultural Heritage for over two decades, this news comes as no surprise. In fact, it’s impossible to underestimate the enormous task ahead for the resources sector, Aboriginal Corporations, and Government departments looking to recruit and upskill in this area. Cultural heritage experts, like myself and my team at Agreement Hub were already a finite resource in WA. This is not something that is going to be resolved overnight and it should have been a key consideration for those planning the rollout of the new Cultural Heritage Act. The influx of requests for our help since the introduction of the new Act has been unprecedented.
