A green chapter added on the roof of our new assembly hall! ☀️   We recently moved into our new assembly hall - an exciting step for Geovent! But the building wasn't quite finished yet. On the roof we were planning an important green initiative: the installation of our new solar panels!   Together for green energy: With support from the EU EEnergy programme (SMP-COSME-2023-EENEE) and a strong collaboration with Stilling Solceller ApS and SolarBalance ApS, we have taken a concrete step towards providing green energy for our production.   The investment in solar panels is central to our sustainability journey. That's why UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production is also an important part of our strategy. Not least in an industry where environmental impact is often a challenge. We want to grow responsibly - while minimising our climate footprint in relation to our level of activity.   🔋Facts about the new solar plant 192 solar panels: The plant can produce approximately 100,000 kWh per year. Energy storage: The system includes six batteries of 14 kWh each. Optimised management: With the help of Solar Balance's innovative system, we can choose to store, consume or purchase electricity at the most efficient times.   We are excited to continue our journey towards greener production and look forward to the positive changes it will bring in the coming years!   Want to know more about Geovent? We have been working on this project presentation a little while, we’re excited to be finalising it this morning and then we’re off to present! What we offer at R-2ENERGY is more than just another energy solution—it’s a game-changer for both people and the planet. While solar panels and wind turbines have been pivotal in driving renewable energy forward, they come with environmental drawbacks. The production of these systems often relies on mining for rare materials such as silicon, lithium, and rare earth metals, which puts pressure on ecosystems and resources. Recycling these systems remains a huge challenge, with many components either difficult or impossible to repurpose at the end of their lifespan. This creates a new wave of environmental concerns—exactly the issues renewables are meant to solve. A Smarter, Greener Alternative the R-2 Wolf & Fox systems comes in, road-based energy taps into existing infrastructure—our roadways. Vehicles create kinetic energy, which we can capture and convert into electricity. Minimal Resource Extraction we capitalise on Infrastructure already in place, reducing the need for mining new materials—unlike the production of other renewables. Instead of competing for land space with agriculture or wildlife, we utilise the road networks and real estate that crisscross our cities and countryside. By designing systems with recyclability in mind from day one, R-2ENERGY minimises waste and reduces strain on the environment. Our roads are constantly in use, meaning consistent energy generation that integrates seamlessly into urban infrastructure, supporting the future of smart cities and electric vehicles. We’ve been able to learn from the challenges of solar and wind energy and apply that knowledge to create a solution that works in harmony with nature, rather than against it.
