Great episode, well worth the watch 👇 "We're working with this population and we want to do better" So important to create a space for service members, veterans, and their families where they can succeed—reframing the thought process entirely around service and their accomplishments. Reframe the "imposter syndrome" wording to imposter feelings and recognize the feelings are a very real response to taking a risk and growing. You are not comfortable doing x YET, but you are growing and can do it. If you don't know, Warrior Transition Outdoors focuses on the broken veteran narrative. Changing the day-to-day mindset of how not only service members, veterans, and families view themselves, but how they are externally viewed. Around 7% of veterans experience PTSD, BUT 6% of the population ALSO experiences PTSD, yet veterans are stereotyped for the work they do versus for the human beings they are. We need to not only support veterans, but introduce a new way of knowing who they are as individuals, instead of this deficit model thinking. Let's continue these types of conversations! 👊
