Who knows best what to treat with a new medicine for mitochondrial disease? Companies, physicians, researchers, regulators, and investors all work together to develop new drugs for rare diseases, but what really makes it happen is the voice of the patient. 🗣 In the below video, our CMO, Magnus Hansson, talks about how the new PROMIS® Fatigue Mitochondrial Disease Short Form was developed together with patients. This short form is now being used in our FALCON study where we investigate the effect of KL1333 on the patients' persistent and debilitating fatigue as well as muscle weakness (myopathy). #WorldMitoWeek2024 #IlluminateTomorrow #patientsfirst #raredisease #patientsfirst https://lnkd.in/dASd7uMJ

Let’s talk about the symptoms of cystic fibrosis (CF). CF is a progressive, life-threatening genetic disease that can lead to severe respiratory and digestive problems if untreated. Swipe left on the graphic for some key symptoms you should be aware of. Recognizing these symptoms early can lead to a timely diagnosis and better management of CF, significantly enhancing the quality of life for those affected. #CysticFibrosis #GeneticMedicine #CFAwareness

This summer, an interim analysis of our #FALCON study in patients with mitochondrial disease evaluated 24-week data for patients included in the first wave of the study. The analysis confirmed that both independent, alternative primary endpoints passed futility (one of which is sufficient for registration), corroborated the strong safety profile of #KL1333, and established that the study will recruit a total of 180 patients. 🦅 Haven't heard about the FALCON study before? Our Dag Nesse gives an introduction in the short video below👇 The video was released during World Mitochondrial Disease Week last year. This year it's September 16 - 22 💚 #WorldMitoWeek2024 #illuminatetommorow #mito #mitochondrialdisease #clinicaldevelopment #raredisease https://lnkd.in/d7mYNzks

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (#MASLD) I that this specific article sounds redundant, but it is not when you learn how to deal with different #cultures This evident need of relabeling reveals much more. #inclusiveattitude #respect #culturaldiffernces #MASDL VS #NAFLD #livinginchina #nutritionistinchina #psychologistinchina A recent Delphi consensus statement on fatty liver disease (FLD) proposed replacing “fatty” with its synonym “steatotic” and advocated for the use of the term “metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD)” to mitigate stigma.[ 1 ] FLD was focused on the term "fat", which was deemed potentially stigmatizing.[ 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ] While the diagnostic criteria for FLD and SLD (steatotic liver disease) overlap, perceptions of stigma vary based on geography and culture.[ 6 , 7 ]
