Exploring the Role of Molecular Imaging in Diagnosing Fever of Unknown Origin (FUO) 🔍 Fever of Unknown Origin (FUO) presents a significant diagnostic challenge, with a broad differential diagnosis and the potential for serious underlying conditions. But what if molecular imaging could offer new insights and help pinpoint the cause more effectively? I recently came across an insightful article on Molecular Imaging of FUO, which dives deep into the latest advancements in imaging technologies, such as PET and SPECT, and how they are revolutionizing the way we approach these complex cases. https://lnkd.in/eXaW8pFu

Color separation in immunohistochemistry (IHC) is crucial for analyzing biomarkers in tissue samples, such as distinguishing the DAB chromogenic signal (which appears brown) from the Hematoxylin counterstain (which stains nuclei blue). To achieve this separation, the algorithm follows these steps based on a referenced paper: 1 ) Establishing a stain deconvolution matrix. 2 ) Converting the RGB image to optical density (OD) space. 3 ) Deconvolving the image to isolate the different stains. 4 ) Normalizing the individual channels. This collaborative effort is led by my colleague Behnoud Shafizadeh, leveraging real-world datasets for accurate digital pathology analysis. #medicalimaging #computervision #digitalpathology
