Yesterday was my birthday. Instead of sharing some barely legible, strangely philosophical pontification on the lessons I’ve learned in my 32yrs, GTMfund decided to launch a free product in partnership with Cabal. A product that I wished I had my whole career. Today, Brian Murray and I are unveiling Warm Intro Navigator (WIN for short). This January I parted ways with one of my oldest clients, for which we generated over €1.2M in turnover through Google Ads since we started working together. We are on fantastic terms and no one is unhappy, just the client started a new business venture in 2023 which required his full focus. Which means a Google Ads agency just doesn’t make sense anymore for the old business. And I actually brought up the idea of parting ways first. Why? Because a relationship needs to make sense for both sides, and if the client’s heart isn’t in the business anymore, we cannot help it grow. We can’t work miracles. And I’m absolutely okay with that. No hard feelings either side, and they appreciated our honesty and openness. However, when one chapter closes, another one opens, and I’m excited to support Lorenz and Lutz with Google Ads in his new business venture. And I’m excited to actually finally meet in person next month! Goodbyes don’t always have to be final. Sometimes, life takes different paths, and then you start new chapters together. Sitting at the airport, already hitting the road on our path to profitability. One thing is clear: I still have a lot to learn about marketing and business, especially in the start-up space. So going to use LinkedIn a bit more in 2024. The idea is to get some help from you brilliant folks on challenges we see or a cool problem you all might like. Before we get in the weeds, let’s start with a quick look back at my first full year living the start-up life: This sh*t is hard - no more buffers of big the brands backing you with their deep pockets and large teams to execute Can’t rest on past success - I tried an old playbook and it didn’t work the way we wanted. Treat every challenge as if it’s a brand new one. Do the research - we created pain relief for our commissioners. We also created pain points. Could have spoken with more customers. Do one thing really well - staying focused on one thing and doing that really well. Then go do another. And another. Before you know it, you’ve built something special. Can hear most people say “yeah, no duh”. But of course, I had to learn the hard way 🙃 More learnings and questions coming soon! Oh yeah…and I also made the best decision of my life and married this babe 👇 will save everyone’s feed from my learnings as a husband.

A door closes and a window opens. In this version, you picture someone nimbly squeezing through a slightly open window, tiptoeing onto the next adventure. In my case a door closed and the whole darn world opened 🌎. It has been years in the making and truth be told, I have been scared to make it happen.
