$23,000 for a haircut??? 😱 Ok, that got your attention did it? And It takes on average 3 months to get an appointment consideration. His roster is A-celebs and deca-millionaires too. It takes 3 days from start to finish for one client 😜 How can someone charge so much and have clients booked out for a year in advance? The answer is he thinks he is worth it and so his value metric is 1000x higher than others in his field. There is a big lesson here. 1. People are not logical on their purchase decisions. 2. Scarcity is powerful driver in marketing (FOMO is very REAL) 3. When you get just ONE person to pay you at a premium you can leverage that. This guy got billionaires to refer him business, then celebs followed suit. 4. It’s not a “haircut”. It’s a phenomenal hair experience that .0001% ever receive. 5. If you got the chops and you focus on your skill you can be unstoppable in business and life.

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 If you’re looking for a book that’s going to inspire you for 2024, look no further than Jamie Kern Lima’s “Believe It.” Jamie is the founder of It Cosmetics, a makeup brand that she started from her living room in 2008 and just eight years later sold to L’Oreal for $1.2 Billion! 🤯 “Believe It” details the setbacks Jamie overcame, including years of rejection. She even had a well known makeup retailer tell her she wasn’t PRETTY enough. 😱 While Jamie eventually scored air time on QVC (where It Cosmetics became the largest beauty brand), she had to keep at it with QVC for TWO years before the network said yes to a 10-minute segment. My biggest takeaways from “Believe It”: 🌟 KNOW YOUR WHY If Jamie had not developed a strong reason for why the world needed her products, she could not have preserved through the years of rejection. 🌟 TRUST YOUR GUT Jamie was bombarded with others telling her what she should do (like use young models to demonstrate her products), but she trusted her gut and bucked industry norms to use everyday women of all ages and with different skin tones and conditions to showcase her products. 🌟 AUTHENTICITY IS YOUR SUPERPOWER Jamie stayed true to herself. She kept it so real that she would display her own bare face on QVC to demonstrate how her makeup could conceal her rosacea. Check out “Believe It”, and let me know what you think! (PS - Jamie has a new book dropping soon called “Worthy.” I can’t wait to get my hands on it.) #LiteraryLawyer #MegsBookClub

Yes, we don’t know how to look cool! Yes, we don’t know what to wear perfectly! Yes, we can’t wear top brands! Yes, we don’t know about colour combinations! Yes, we don’t have variety of clothes & repeats frequently! Yes, we don’t know different hair styles! Yes, we just have one pair of shoes & slippers! Yes, we don’t have much cosmetics, creams, serum or lotions! We exist!! We are humans, not machines, can’t be so perfect and learn day by day. So, is this the thing to judge? Take a break, ask out yourself, how do we judge a person easily basis of this, ignoring other aspects and quality of him/ her. Felt personally the same across many places, so just a thought 💭 to share with all of respected users! Please 🙏🏼 don’t judge anyone on the basis of it. Comment down your experience and views on it!! Artist-led #beauty lines are booming amid a growing backlash against celebrity-backed or founded brands. With industry titans like PAT McGRATH LABS and Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, mid-level players such as Half Magic Beauty Magic (the beauty brand created by Donni Davy, the makeup artist behind HBO’s hit series Euphoria), Danessa Myricks Beauty and Sculpted by Aimee are teetering on the precipice of mainstream success. Meanwhile, newer indie brands — including Hughes’s KJH.Brand, Jo Baker’s BAKEUP Beauty and Nikki DeRoest’s ciele cosmetics — are gaining traction. For smaller artist-led brands, however, expanding can pose a challenge. Distribution is an important decision: a predominantly wholesale model brings the risks and rewards of being stocked in larger #retailers.
