Another #FriYAY, another introduction to our growing team! Christina Smithers joined #TeamSheepdog as a Software Support Engineer, where she supports our customer service and operational teams with technical support. Christina’s role blends her tech expertise with regular customer interaction to resolve issues and/or offer troubleshooting advice. Learn more about her below: Q: How long have you been working in the industry and how long with Iron Sheepdog? A: I have not worked in the transportation industry before, but I have worked in tech for about seven years. I have officially been with Iron Sheepdog for one month. Q: What attracted you most about working at Iron Sheepdog? A: I enjoyed meeting people who are not just smart, but have great attitudes of growth, integrity and valuing being human. I also enjoyed learning how everyone works together to grow and be everything they can be. I also must admit the design and cute avatars on Slack are awesome as well. Q: What's the most unexpected thing about working at Iron Sheepdog? A: I was not expecting a culture of everyone being so collaborative before and it's amazing. Everyone accomplishes so much because they all pull in together like a pack of good sheepdogs! When I see everyone thinking together on how we can deliver the best every time, it's fun to watch the ideas develop. There is also a strong attitude of growing and approaching mastery. Q: What out-of-office activities do you enjoy? Favorite places traveled? Favorite movie/show/book? A: There's too many things I love doing. I do metalworking, culinary arts (including French cooking and cheesemaking), cycling, crafts, astronomy, learning new things, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Two of my favorite places I have been are probably Yellowstone National Park and southern Italy. The beauty of the former- especially seeing the stars and aurora over the springs one fall night was unforgettable to me as a child and led me to my path today. The latter is also lovely, and the culture there is amazing. It's amazing seeing places where people stood where you are in eons long past and then you get to walk among many eras together while enjoying a nice espresso and croissant with friendly people. Favorite movie and so forth are so hard to choose: Interstellar is up there, The Nightmare Before Christmas for its wonderful weirdness in its style and music as well as cheesy holiday hijinks (and Zero since he's adorable), and Spirited Away for its strong themes of friendship, family, and resilience. My favorite TV show is probably Curb Your Enthusiasm, Mindhunter, and Ted Lasso. Again, I am terrible at picking a favorite of anything, but a few that come to mind are Cosmos by Carl Sagan, Circe by Madeleine Miller, The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, and Prelude to Foundation by Isaac Asimov. #TGIFriYAY #HaulYeah

Reflecting on my year at Drinkfill brings a wave of emotions and a treasure trove of memories. As a Software Innovations Developer in this vibrant team, I dove headfirst into a world of mechatronic wonders, soap and beverage machines like none other. It wasn't just about sustainable living; it was about reshaping the future, one innovation at a time. The heart of my journey? The people. Andy Chou, our CEO, a visionary leader who saw potential in me. His trust and guidance were more than I could have asked for. And let's not forget Lode Ameije, our Technical Team Lead. This guy's not just a tech guru; he's a wizard! His mentorship was like finding a rare gem - invaluable and enlightening. But it wasn't all work and no play. Those Friday jaunts to Tacofino for burritos, basking in the sun at the park – absolute bliss! And who knew peanut butter and banana on bread could be a culinary art form? Thanks to Lode, now I do. As I step into new adventures, I carry with me not just a backpack of tech skills but a heart full of teamwork, laughter, and those little moments that make life richer. The letter of exemplary performance from Drinkfill is not just a piece of paper; it's a snapshot of an unforgettable chapter in my life. #CareerJourney #Gratitude #Innovation #Sustainability #Teamwork #Drinkfill #Memories

🎉 BrainPOP has just turned 25! Wow! 🥳 I came to BrainPOP for a temporary 6-month gig, running the ESL product. I ended up staying because of the people. Thinking back, it really is the people you work with who make all the difference. Even as I've moved on to new opportunities, the bonds formed at BrainPOP remain strong. I'm struck by the profound impact those relationships had- and continue to have- on every aspect of my experience. Over the span of 14 years, BrainPOP evolved from just a job into a second home. 🏡 Together, we shared laughter, learning, and growth. 😄📈 It wasn't merely about completing tasks; it was about standing by each other through the highs and lows. From casual chats in the kitchen, to shared jokes in meetings, there was an undeniable sense of connection that made every day special. Our conversations extended beyond work matters; we discussed life's joys and challenges. Whether it was swapping stories about family or supporting each other through tough times, these interactions fostered a deep sense of belonging and strengthened our team bond. Catching up with former teammates over virtual coffee or celebrating their achievements from afar, the connections we cultivated continue to bring warmth and joy to my life. I'm grateful for the friendships I made at BrainPOP, they shaped who I am today. Congrats to the team on reaching this milestone of 25 years. Onwards and upwards! 🚀 #TeamGoals #WorkCulture #CompanyValues #Leadership #HumanResources

Celebrating 3️⃣ Remarkable Years at Hostinger! 🚀 Looking back at the first day I joined the dynamic world of Hostinger (initially through Zyro!), it amazes me how far we've come. It's been 1,095 days packed with innovation, collaboration, and significant milestones.🌟 From the early days of pioneering AI solutions before the world buzzed about ChatGPT, to seeing our team evolve from a small squad to a robust, process-driven powerhouse, every phase has been nothing but extraordinary. 🤖📈 Journey Highlights: - 👥 Team Dynamics: From working autonomously to embedding within teams, crafting new processes, and scaling up again. - 🌐 AI Innovations: Pushing boundaries by building and training AI models when it was still the dawn of a new tech era. - 🥳 Culture & Community: The unforgettable Hostinger summer hubs and New Year celebrations that bring us all closer. - 📊 Impact: Celebrating milestones like reaching 2 million users—reminding us that our journey of impact is just beginning! And oh, a fun twist in my tale? After initially being turned down by Zyro, they reached out to bring me on board, and here I am, three years later, still part of this amazing story. Isn't that something, Tomas Rasymas? 😄 The most beautiful part? Feeling that I am still growing every day signals that Hostinger isn’t just a workplace; it’s a launchpad for ceaseless learning and personal growth. Here’s to more innovations, challenges, and chats! 🚀 #innovation #technology #career #growth #creativity #hostinger

⚡️ Yesterday I had the honour and privilege of hosting a fireside chat with Raquel Urtasun, founder and CEO of Waabi, a world-renowned expert in the field of AI. During my time at Uber, I remember watching a fireside chat that Andrew Macdonald hosted during Raquel’s first week as Uber’s Chief Scientist. I was blown away to have such a strong, progressive, global leader right here in Toronto, let alone within our company. Witnessing Raquel’s journey from then to now has been nothing short of inspiring for the entire Canadian tech community. Here are just 3 of the many takeaways from our time together that I am energized to apply to my day-to-day and felt compelled to share: 1️⃣ Be Bold, Aim High: the path to success in your career is seldom linear. Celebrate the highs but embrace the lows, they build grit and teach you just as much as your wins. 2️⃣ Strategic and Inclusive Hiring: Diversity fuels innovation. By fostering an inclusive hiring process, we elevate the caliber of our teams. We must focus on always raising the bar of our teams as they grow. 3️⃣ Embrace Growth: Everyone has doubts and insecurities but if you focus on pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and double down on your personal growth journey, you will never stop learning and will continue to level yourself up. 🔥 I left our conversation feeling fired up, with some tactical next steps to elevate my game. Thank you Raquel Urtasun for your continued leadership and for taking the time to connect with the GoBolt team. Here’s to pushing boundaries, fostering inclusivity, and relentlessly pursuing growth. 💪 🤝 📈

Graphic Design Specialist, Marketer and Possibly your Future Colleague 🌟 Expertise in Branding, Video Editing, Motion Graphic & 2D Animation 🪄
Monday was a day of non-stop action - and I'm still trying to catch my breath 😎 After a 2-hour morning meeting with Polina Vishnia to discuss our campaigns and paid ads performance at Crowd For Impact, I had a nearly hour-long team meeting to review our weekly performance, processes, and challenges. As a B2B marketplace for sustainable products, we're pushing ourselves to achieve sales milestones for our startups. After the meeting, Polina and I headed to the Diversity Dialogue event at Wolt HQ. As a multitasking pro 😇 , I managed to pick up my daughter from daycare, feed her on the go (so she'd behave!), and arrive at the event a bit late due to location confusion with my stroller-bound kid in tow! 🙄 The event was incredible, with valuable insights from panelists Samuel, Mia, Lina, and Anna. Lina's guidance during the event and afterwards was particularly valuable, as she shared her expertise on Wolt's hiring criteria and offered practical advice on how mid-career professionals like myself, who have relocated to a new country, can secure a position in companies like Wolt. Thank you, Lina, for your genuine and helpful advice! I realized that creating a truly inclusive workplace is not just a nice-to-have, but a must-have. It's about recognizing that everyone has a unique story and experience, and that our differences are what make us stronger. By embracing diversity and inclusion, companies can build a sense of belonging, spark creativity, and unlock the full potential of their teams. The event's key takeaways from the Diversity Talk was: 1. Hire people who fit your company's goals. 2. Make your company attractive to top talent. 3. Hire diverse people for better teams. 4. Communicate clearly with your team. 5. Use data to make smart hiring decisions. 6. Build trust with your team to work well together. I also ran into my friend Viivi 😍 , met some new people, and connected with other moms and expats. We swapped stories and supported each other, it was great to feel like I'm not alone! The future of work is inclusive, let's make it happen! 💪

🤔 So many times I've heard how #socialmedia #strategy is super important for companies. And how many times we've seen it being just #buzzwords?... But for those of us in the #gigeconomy, like at Eternis, it's the absolute #backbone of staying #connected with 10,000 #drivers and #couriers. 🌐 💡Here’s the scoop on how we rock social media at #TeamEternisSocialMediaNinja 🥷 🎯𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝: At Eternis, social media is #not a special team; it's part of #everyone's job. From customer service reps, through branches, head office, even up to our back office crew, we all chip in. It’s about being there, chatting, supporting, and sharing insights anytime, because our drivers and couriers are rolling 24/7. 🚗🕒 🎯𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤, 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: We do #not just post to fill up a calendar. We talk and share things as they #comeup, #real and #raw. If it's important #now, we #share it now! 📢👥 🎯𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐬: We keep it #real with #casual chats instead of corporate speak. We talk just like we would with #friends because that’s what our #community is all about. 🗣️❤️ By staying authentic and involved, we've built a community of 10,000 #drivers and #couriers that #trusts us and really feels part of something special. That's the real power of social media for us—it's about making those #genuineconnections every day. #TeamEternis Kamil Leszczyński Alicja Leszczyńska #GigEconomy #RealTalk #EternisFamily #SocialMediaLife #StayConnected #GigWorkers #FinancialInclusion
