The University of Greenwich has picked McLaren Construction, #Wates, #MorganSindall, #Vinci and #WillmottDixon to deliver a £300m programme of works covering a mix of refurbishment, rebuild and new build projects. Projects delivered by the University’s framework deal are expected to vary in value between £50m and £250m across three campuses. The mix of properties within scope include scheduled monuments, listed buildings, buildings of various ages and new construction. This includes the delivery of a new learning, research, and enterprise hub at #Greenwich; new learning and research spaces at the #Medway campus and up-graded teaching, simulated learning and research spaces at #AveryHill to meet changing models of health care and education

Colliers arranges sale of the Cambridge campus with two buildings totaling 83,136-square-feet across 7.8 acres. The sale of the Cambridge Matignon School campus to Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School marks the transition for the long-standing institution, known for its educational excellence and commitment to the local community. Located at 1 Matignon Road in Cambridge, the 7-acre land includes playing fields, science labs, an auditorium, and a gymnasium. The two former buildings, Matignon High School and the Administrative Building, both constructed in 1945, were previously leased and have now been sold. "We are proud to have worked closely with the community and alumni to ensure a smooth transition with the sale of this important property, honoring both its legacy and ensuring the beautiful campus will be able to provide continued impact for the Cambridge community," said James Elcock, Vice Chair at Colliers.

More great news from our Yorkshire business with their recent appointment by the University of Leeds to undertake a series of works to improve its campus. 🏫 🎓 The capital works programme – procured through the Procure Partnerships Framework - will entail refurbishment of existing university spaces and entrances as well as reroofing and cladding works. Yesterday, the Aurora Consortium constisting of EPICo, Rebel, groep Van Roey and Democo successfully reached financial close for the second school in the Ghent & Ninove cluster, which entails an elementary school in Ninove housing over 200 children, designed by BRUT architecture and urban design. The Ghent & Ninove cluster forms a part of the Flemish government’s ambitious Master Plan for School Building. The Aurora consortium is designing and building a total of 23 schools in Flanders, including in Ninove, Ertvelde, Ghent, Haaltert, Ronse and Lanaken. Each of these are public-private partnerships. Early next year, the first school of the program will reach completion.

Dundee and Angus College has unveiled plans for a £265m redevelopment - which could include some significant relocations. The college is exploring moving its Dundee campus to a new facility at the city's Wellgate Shopping Centre and moving its Arbroath campus into the town centre - possibly at the Abbeygate Shopping Centre. This would involve closing the college's existing Kingsway campus in Dundee and its campus in Arbroath. The college said its third campus at Gardyne in Dundee would be expanded and developed to include a green skills and innovation hub. The HCCDC team was fortunate to visit University of Newcastle's under-construction Central Coast campus last week. With the core concrete structure in place, it’s great to see the timber building frame taking shape. The University and its construction partners are targeting a 6-star Green Star rating, with everything from the concrete to the timber elements meeting sustainable guidelines. The goal is to create a healthy, productive and sustainable learning environment. We’re proud to play an integral role in this important project. As well as providing the land, we worked across NSW Government to enable the precinct’s development and secure Government funding so that new education opportunities could be provided for the Central Coast.
