In a month of first’s, the P&N team made their TV debuts, showcasing our new and inclusive Carousel Branch on Seven News. We believe everyone deserves to have access to banking services, and that’s why at P&N Bank we’re striving to create an inclusive banking and financial experience for everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from. I’d like to say a big thank you to @Clare Gibellini and @Andrew Fairbairn for their support and advice on ways we can make our P&N Bank branches more accessible and inclusive, without your lived experience insights we would have produced the ‘same old’ bank design! Listening and building on the insights from Andrew and Clare, we’ve made a range of improvements to our Karrinyup and Carousel branch designs to allow for an inclusive and accessible customer experience, including: -offices with a sensory sensitive space, where the lights can be dimmed, and music turned down to provide a quieter and less stimulating environment for neurodiverse customers -iPads with kids’ games -an accessible service desk -wall mounted TV screens to make sure the line of site is accessible for wheelchair users -in-branch self-serve banking technology -a new safe space community wall that showcases local WA artists -bespoke reconciliation artwork on display. Using Occam's Razor, a simple yet effective solution is evident: update the laws to expand transaction capabilities through the PayPoint network. Monzo Bank easy cash deposit system via PayPoint is a prime example of streamlined banking - deposit cash at local shops with minimal hassle. If we extend this model, increasing transaction limits and requiring all banks to join, we could significantly enhance financial accessibility. This approach could democratize banking, especially in underserved communities.
