🌟 Happy National STEM Day!🌟 Today, we celebrate the transformative power of STEM education and the boundless potential it creates. National STEM Day is dedicated to inspiring young minds to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math—fields that drive innovation and shape our future. At GHD Foundation, we’re passionate about widening access to STEM opportunities for students from all walks of life. Through our partnerships, we aim to help break down barriers and support the next generation of innovators, creators, and leaders. Our partnership with the British American Foundation of Texas (BAFTX) is a great example of this mission in action. With over 1,200 scholarships awarded to underrepresented students—totaling $2.8 million—BAFTX is truly empowering young people to reach their dreams and gain enriching cultural experiences. It was an honor to support their annual fundraising event last Saturday and meet some of the inspiring scholars who volunteered to pay it forward by helping raise funds for the next wave of STEM dreamers. Here’s to every student, dreamer, and change-maker who’s shaping our future through STEM! #NationalSTEMDay #GHDFoundation #STEMeducation #BAFTX #TheFutureIsBright

✨California showcases how extension leaders are rising to the challenge, creating pathways for students in rural and underserved communities to access STEM opportunities. With 92,400 STEM jobs anticipated by 2026 and just 10 national STEM programs in the state, the need for support is urgent—and schools can’t tackle it on their own. That’s why California 4H and Hughesnet have partnered to make a difference. Together, they’re providing 1,000 "Food for Thought" STEM kits designed to ignite curiosity, foster innovation, and equip rural and underrepresented students with the skills they need for tomorrow’s STEM careers. These kits inspire students to think outside the box, dream without limits, and envision themselves as future leaders in STEM fields. We're thrilled to share insights from Dr. Dijanna Figueroa, Director of STEM Engagement at BBF, on what sets our programs apart. Our summer camps are FREE! While similar residential STEM camps can cost thousands, we’re committed to providing accessible, high-quality education to the youth we serve. This incredible opportunity is made possible by the generous support of our community partners and donors. Not only are our camps cost-free, but they also offer immersive educational experiences in some of the most prestigious research facilities in the country. Our partnerships with leading universities and research centers ensure participants receive unparalleled exposure to advanced STEM fields. Let’s shout out to Dr. Figueroa and all the passionate educators and supporters who make this possible! We’re not just talking about making a difference; we're doing it together. #STEMEducation #YouthEmpowerment #FreeEducation #BridgeBuildersLA #LeadersInSTEM

This giving season, join us in empowering the next generation of STEM leaders! 🌟 💪Since 2017, STEM Generation has been dedicated to breaking down barriers for under-recognized students in high-needs schools by providing access to high-quality STEM education. We inspire students to believe that they all have the talent and potential to succeed in STEM fields, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through hands-on curriculum, insightful conversations, and connections to STEM professionals, we’re bridging gaps in learning opportunities, reshaping perceptions of STEM careers, and providing meaningful experiences that spark curiosity and ignite potential. 👏With your generosity, we’ve already impacted over 15,000 students—helping them develop the STEM skills and confidence needed to thrive. This year alone, your support has allowed us to provide over 300 students with hands-on STEM kits and science fair materials, ensuring that all students, regardless of their financial situation, have the opportunity to engage in projects like the Aurora Public Schools District-wide Science & Engineering Fair. But we still have more to do. Your donation helps us: ✔️Provide materials for hands-on STEM kits ✔️Support science fair participation for students in need ✔️Expand teacher training and professional development ✔️Ensure equitable access to STEM opportunities for every student 🤝Together, we can continue to bridge the gap and create lasting change for students who are the future of science, technology, engineering, and math. Donate today at Colorado Gives and be part of this transformative journey: https://lnkd.in/gZm-TT5Y #GivingSeason #Future #Fundraising #Inclusion #InItTogether #philanthropy #GivingTuesday #MakeaDifference #GettingThingsDone

We’re happy to share 2 ✨NEW✨ case studies from our Making Connections project featuring programs from TGR Foundation that illustrate different strategies for making connections across STEM learning networks. Strategy 2️⃣ on coordinating between in school and out-of-school settings to cultivate youths’ STEM interests • TGR Learning Lab: Career Connected Learning Pathways - https://lnkd.in/gYzYuBGh Strategy 5️⃣ on translating youth interests into STEM career and entrepreneurship opportunities • TGR Learning Lab Industry Partnerships: “They Wanted Our Feedback and to Use Our Ideas” - https://lnkd.in/gjCgd3Sr Our Making Connections project investigates how to build connections and transitions between out-of-school programs to support coordinated and culturally sustaining STEM ecosystems for underrepresented youth. A young person whose interest in STEM is sparked in a community-based program can struggle to sustain and grow that interest because of lack of coordination between programs and in school and out or school settings. Building on the connected learning framework, this project focuses on identifying and spreading effective strategies to address this problem. Check out other case studies on the 8️⃣ strategies from Making Connections project here: https://lnkd.in/gEP95UyY #ConnectedLearning #STEMEducation #STEMLearning

On #nationalengineeringday the 1851 Trust, Athena Pathway, and Cobham-Ultra are thrilled to announce the results of their recent STEM Roadshow in UK schools, with an exciting impact report revealing that 98% of students who attended have a newfound interest in STEM careers! 🌟 This initiative shows how much potential we have to tackle the UK’s STEM skills shortage—which could cost the economy £120 billion by 2030. Through engaging and interactive experiences, students were inspired by real-world applications of science, technology, engineering, and math, gaining skills that align with the UK’s goals for economic growth and climate sustainability. Olympic gold medallist Hannah Mills OBE, with the help of the 1851 Trust, led the STEM Roadshow across London, York, Southampton, and Oxford. By using high-performance sports to challenge stereotypes and introduce STEM in an inspiring context, these events reached over 500 students, setting the stage for a diverse, skilled workforce ready to innovate for a sustainable future. But to scale this impact, we need government support! We’re calling on the UK government and the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council to back initiatives like this and foster partnerships between the private sector and educators to continue inspiring the next generation of problem-solvers. Read the full report and find out more here: https://lnkd.in/e6ba7g2d Help us keep the momentum going! Share this post and show your support for government-backed STEM partnerships that will empower young people, drive economic growth, and ensure a sustainable future for all. #STEM #ClimateEducation #1851Trust #FutureOfSTEM #STEMCareers #GovernmentAction #UKEducation #STEMRoadshow

The South Side STEM Opportunity Landscape Project is a groundbreaking initiative designed to connect communities on Chicago’s South Side with valuable STEM resources, partnerships, and learning opportunities. Developed in collaboration with Argonne, Northwestern University’s Digital Youth Network, educators, community organizations, and local businesses, this project is paving the way for a brighter, STEM-focused future. By mapping STEM programs, providers, and learning spaces across nine South Side neighborhoods, this initiative provides students, educators, and employers with tools to explore opportunities, identify strengths, and address gaps. As Jason Coleman from Project SYNCERE put it, "We've been lacking a tool to show students, providers, and employers the opportunities in certain communities." Now, those connections are not only visible but actionable. As we reflect on the best stories of 2024, this project stands out as a catalyst for collaboration and a launchpad for student success in STEM. By fostering partnerships and providing access to critical data, Argonne is helping to prepare the next generation of STEM leaders, empowering them to pursue impactful careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
