Software solutions to help clients extract value from data

Key takeaways by our CTO Gianluca from Yann LeCun's keynote at WAICF - World AI Cannes Festival last week. I couldn't agree more on the need of open-source AI platforms and models to democratize access to such a disruptive technology and steer away from risk of polarization of control. what are your thoughts? In the recent news we've heard of initiatives that go in this direction such as "Modello Italia" - but is it enough? I'd love to hear Uljan Sharka's thoughts on the same

Main takeaways from yesterday's keynote at WAICF - World AI Cannes Festival by Yann LeCun from AI at Meta: ✅ There is no questions that machines will eventually surpass human intelligence in all domains. 🛑 BUT we are nowhere near human-level AI today. Even current most advanced AI models lack of  ❌ common sense ❌ memory ❌ reasoning ❌ hierarchical planning 🛑 Large Language Models (Auto-Regressive LLMs) are doomed! We are easily fooled by their fluency but ❌ They cannot be made factual, non-toxic, etc. ❌ They do not know how the world works ❌ They are not controllable and mimic (bad) behaviors from the training set ❌ All of this is not fixable without a major redesign ✅ They are good only for writing assistance, first draft generation, stylistic polishing, coding 🛑 A 4 year-old child has seen 50x more data than any LLMs 🛑 Human learning process doesn't come from language, but from sensorial experience ❓What are we missing❓ ☑️ Systems that learn world models from sensory inputs ☑️ Systems that have persistent memory ☑️ Systems that can plan actions ☑️ Systems that are controllable and safe by design (and not by fine-tuning) 🧑🔬 Research is going towards new model architectures such as: 🔹 Objective-Driven AI (https://lnkd.in/dbT_iuGQ) 🔹 Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture (https://lnkd.in/dKbNpTx3) 🔹 DinoV2 (https://lnkd.in/dmiNuzYK) ✅ In the near future all of our interactions with the digital world will be mediated by AI assistants.  ✅ They will constitute a repository of all human knowledge and culture ✴ These AI platform MUST be open source ✴ ✴ Culture & knowledge cannot be controlled by a few companies on the West Coast of the US or in China ✴ 🟢 Open source AI platforms are necessary! 🟢
