"Chance favors only the prepared mind.” Louis Pasteur After an incredible weekend of Men’s and Women’s college championship basketball, and with one more to go tonight, do you believe in luck? Like NC State with the record they had, they had to be lucky to make it as far as they did, right? I mean there is no other reason for their success, or is there? Maybe on the business side, you had one of those days where luck seems to always be on your side? You had the Midas touch. Where despite facing obstacles at every turn, you clinch that deal and come out on top? Or perhaps it's one of those days where nothing and I mean nothing goes right, like losing a long-time customer to a competitor. But let’s consider a different view, did we take that customer for granted? Did we invest the same effort as we would for a new prospect? Were we truly prepared for any challenge that came our way? Did we put in the work? As the saying goes, "luck is when preparation meets opportunity." Let's ensure our minds are prepared, and our actions aligned for success. So, are you feeling lucky today? #Preparation #Opportunity #Success

It’s college softball tournament time and last weekend was the first round of regionals. Friday evening I tuned in to watch my alma mater, the University of Missouri (Mizzou), play their first game. They were ranked #7 and should have easily beaten Omaha – who was unranked. Well, they play the games for a reason… Mizzou got beat. Well… the haters and non-believers came out of the woodwork. Social media was full of them. In case you aren’t familiar, in the regionals you have to lose twice before you’re out of the tournament, and there are four teams in each region. That meant Missouri had to win 2 games Saturday to advance to meet Omaha on Sunday and they would have to beat them twice to win the regional. The odds are less than 20% that this will happen. But, it did!!! Missouri won. It was exciting (too exciting for me) as there was no score going into the ninth inning (softball usually plays 7 innings) when Mizzou finally scored. The odds were against them… Many of their “fans” didn’t believe in them. But… they did it anyway! Sound familiar? I know so many entrepreneurs and business owners who let other people determine their destiny. They let other people talk them into and out of things. They let other people make them feel like winners or losers. (All these people are well meaning – they think they’re protecting you… what they’re really doing is holding you back and squashing your dreams). Your success (winning and losing) is in your hands. Don’t ever let anybody convince you otherwise. Don’t ever allow yourself to feel less than because of what somebody else did – or said. You, and you alone, are the magic. You determine your outcomes and your success. Nobody else. Even when the odds are against you. Even when they appear to be stacked against you. Your actions. Your mindset. Your opinion - - - it’s ALL that matters. Go have the success you want! Exceed every expectation! If you do, the haters will disappear… like they did last weekend when Mizzou won! #CompleteMarketingSystems, #BusinessOwner, #Success

🥊The Power of Patience: Lessons from the Boxing Ring🥊 I recently came across an inspiring story from George Foreman that resonated deeply with me and I wanted to share it with you all. At twenty-two, George Foreman was preparing for a fight against Joe Frazier for the heavyweight title in Jamaica. His focus was so intense that he didn’t even notice the clear, blue water beside him during roadwork. That intensity helped him win the title in just two rounds. Two years later, in a fight against Muhammad Ali in Zaire, Foreman expended all his energy early. By the eighth round, he lost his title. It took him twenty years to win it back.Twenty years!During those two decades, patience transformed him. Training for the fight against Michael Moorer in Las Vegas, he ran in the mountains and this time, he noticed the sheep along the way. Patience allowed him to observe, conserve energy, and wait for the perfect moment in the tenth round to land his decisive shot. Patience isn't just a virtue—it’s a game-changer in every area of life.In our careers, it’s easy to want immediate results, to see the equivalent of a Cadillac in the dealership window and feel an urgent need to have it now. But patience teaches us that with time, our goals remain attainable. The journey enriches us with invaluable experiences and insights we might otherwise miss. Whether you're navigating your career, pursuing personal goals, or facing daily challenges, remember: patience allows you to observe, conserve, and ultimately, succeed. #Leadership #Patience #CareerGrowth #LifeLessons #Inspiration #LinkedInPremium #Fyp Image Credit: Pinterest

How to respond to a mistake.

How do you respond to a mistake? On Saturday night, Iowa's Koen Entringer missed the very first tackle attempt on Michigan returner Semaj Morgan during the first quarter of Monday night's Big Ten Championship. Unlike what a lot of people might do after messing up, Koen kept playing. Watch closely. He runs from his own four-yard-line all the way down the field to push Morgan out of bounds before he can score a touchdown and make the game 10-0. What. A. Hustle. Play. 🤯 >>>What I love about this is that it's the perfect example of how we handle obstacles in life. 1. We don't have to be perfect to be impactful. 2. Effort is ALWAYS our choice. We simply have to respond with our best every time. "Next play mentality" as Duke's Mike Krzyzewski would pour into his players. Keep your focus and mind off of what was (last play) or would could be (three plays from now). ✖ Fumbled through your sales pitch? Focus on how you're going to going to go above & beyond in the follow up and next steps. ✖ Didn't get that promotion? Interview your manager to learn what skills you need to improve and become the BEST teammate to that newly promoted peer while working to position yourself for the next promotion. ✖ If the last move didn't go the way you wanted, don't let it be the reason you give up on the next one. ✅ Be in THIS moment - regardless of how positive or negative the last moment went - and win it by giving your best. I'm cheering for you. __________ 📽 Fox Sports #CompeteEveryDay #EffortIsAChoice #EffortMatters #CompetitorMindset #LeadershipDevelopment

NEVER bet against a WINNER. They will somehow find a way to WIN They may be down, behind on the scoreboard, they may doubt, and overlooked ...but get this straight, they are gonna find a way to WIN. Eventually, winners find a damn way to get winning done. It’s their IDENTITY, it’s their STANDARD. It’s who they are. Never, Ever underestimate the HEART of a CHAMPION. If you have someone you know who is just flat out a winner, pull them closer to you, it’s CONTAGIOUS. What’s really crazy, is if two winners get together and decide to join forces in a business, on a team, in a relationship towards a common goal. That’s a scary combination, it’s a powerful force. You put three, four, five winners in a room or on a team together and the winning is inevitable The crazy thing about most winners? They Would never say this about themselves to you… They keep this belief inside and they use it as a FORCE of nature Their current circumstances, do not define them, they are not deterred by setbacks. They know they will ultimately be defined by where they FINISH, not where they start and not where they are in the middle of their pursuit of the victory TAG A WINNER YOU BELIEVE IN! #wintheday #winning #faith #family fitness #recruiting

What can the Iowa Hawkeye Football Team teach us about business? The Hawks have one of the best defenses in football, but one of the worst offenses. This dichotomy is going to hold them back from being able to reach their full potential and be in the top 10 of their field. Is your business operating that way? Are you focusing too much attention on your defense, i.e. your operations, production, quality, processes, etc., and not enough on offense? Your offense is your sales, marketing, prospecting, and online presence. People need to know who you are and what you can do for them if you are going to reach your top 10! Beware the Iowa trap! Balance is what success is about. If you are great on both sides of the ball you will be successful in your market, but if you are too lopsided (either way), you will lose out on opportunity. Oh, and please cheer for my Hawks in the B1G Championship Game. It's always more fun to root for the underdog, even if they are going to get killed... #business #successmindset #businessgrowthstrategy #sportsanalogy #successjourney

Stop being afraid to make mistakes! (Perfectionists suffer more than any other style, from lack of flexibility!) Play your long game, stick to your game plan, & ADJUST when needed. Rarely is anything perfect, so it doesn't have to be! Failing, or making mistakes will teach you, & your team SO MUCH MORE than winning out ever could. Adjusting to those exposed weaknesses, or opportunities is the name of the game…it’s why they play 4 quarters in football. The Alabama Crimson Tide players will often hold up 4 fingers, to remind everyone that they are playing until the end. That’s the difference between winners and losers…. Winners create distance from the competition in the 4th quarter, and on Fridays, when everyone else is “Gassed.” Coach Saban’s squad fell flat in week 2 against Texas this year, coached by one of Sabans Protégé’s. (Sark) The next week he benched his starting QB and made him uncomfortable. That forced him to grow, get better, & adjust to what was exposed in his game. Last Saturday, that same QB, Jalen Milroe, won the SEC Championship MVP award! (He'll be a Heisman Hopeful next year, bet me!) No big deal…. EXCEPT: They beat a Georgia team that was #1 all year & had a 29-game winning streak. (Underdogs, can still play their best games, if they believe.) The Crimson Tide faithful will often say “Trust the process.” I do…. I use the very same process for peak performance that THEY do, with every client! (We are a team, after all!) https://lnkd.in/gFmeuzKH My only call to action for you, would be to trust yourself, and trust the process. Failures aren’t fatal, if you’re flexible enough. Learn what you must to best steer yourself and persevere. This Tide team says “Let all Naysayers know.” We’d want you to do the same, & shock the world by moving yourself into the top 1% of performers in your industry. Our teams win quicker, easier, because they are following their own playbooks, certified for accuracy! Please let me know if you need 1 for yourself, as it only takes 15 minutes to get your very own! Quote of The Week: “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.” - Vince Lombardi 1) Winning Covers most problems 2) It isn’t always about the destination 3) Success can set you up for failure 4) All relationships are imperfect “At some point, the end doesn’t justify the means; whether it’s an aggressive growth plan or striving to win the last game of the season, the team MUST enjoy the journey, not just the destination”. #FridayForward #elevateothersdaily https://lnkd.in/gRXSvPva

Outcome Thinking® Leaders- 90 Days to Leaders Who are Aligned so They Collaborate, Create, and Execute at a High Level. Learn to think, speak, and execute like a C Suite Executive!
It's Masters Saturday! This has me reflecting on all the leadership lessons you can learn from golf. You play your own game, but in an event, your score counts for the team. At times, you sacrifice to show another person with a better score going the line of the putt. It is not all about you! It is not all about strength but rather about how to be flexible and consistent. Narrow and straight wins the race every time. When you get in the weeds, it is sometimes more beneficial to take your penalty stroke than to keep hacking at the ball, trying to get out. Look for the best in your teammates. You should be encouraging and coaching them and building each other up. Don’t take your play out on your teammates. We know everyone has an off day, and that is okay. What is not okay is throwing clubs, cursing, or getting snarky on others. Have each other‘s backs. When gators are near (yes, one was only 6 feet from me!), have your clubs ready to beat him off. (I pitched and landed on the green and then got out of there!!) Don’t cheat. Everyone can see when what you say you scored doesn’t match the strokes you took on the course. It is not worth your character just to win. Besides, you didn’t really win, and everyone knows that. So, who do you think is walking off the course with a Green Jacket this weekend? #MastersLeadership #GolfWisdom #FairPlayLeadership #outcome #outcomethinking
