Roofers: What advice would you give to this roofing company that started to have more scope of works on the desk than expected? They need to come up with standard operating procedures for sales and hire more sales guys fast. Resources you’d point them to? They need to have this all figured out by EOM and want it to end up being a good problem instead of a bad problem. #roofingcontractors #roofingindustry #roofers

Make culture your competitive advantage | Engaged and happy employees who thrive | We can create a workplace where people feel valued, where they understand your "who" and your "why" and deliver excellence.
I know this is a hack roofing job. The guy who did it didn't know what he's doing and did a crap job, but I can't call him back because he passed away a while ago. It needs help, so I called a local roofer to stop by. Having been in the construction industry for a long time, I know the delicate dance that goes through the mind of the salesperson. You want to say "holy cow, this is the worst job I've seen and the people that did it are hacks and should be drawn and quartered and tarred and feathered in the public square", but you know that's not a great way to earn trust. You can't trash other people's work - you never know if the person who did it was a friend or family member - and it's poor taste. But you also have to establish credibility, so NOT acknowledging crappy work is also a bad idea. So the salesperson has to gently ask some questions like "do you know who did this?" or "how long ago was this done?". Then smoothly transition to "have you had any leaks?" or "did you notice this [points out crap work] over here?". Within 5 minutes we're down to "I wouldn't even waste money on repairing it. If you're going to do anything, you might as well just replace it."

In our industry, integrity and transparency are paramount. It’s disheartening to see a local contractor consistently promising one thing and delivering another. We’ve noticed a concerning trend of prices that suggest plans to cut asphalt mix or deliver subpar thicknesses. As professionals, we all face challenges from these deceptive practices. It’s crucial that we shine a light on those who are taking shortcuts and not just fall in line. We have a responsibility to uphold the highest standards of quality and honesty in our work. It’s also our duty to educate our customers. They should be vigilant and informed, asking the right questions: Is the quoted price too good to be true? Is the contractor transparent about the materials and methods used? As industry experts, we should help them understand what to look for and expect in quality service. At Cincinnati Asphalt, we believe in delivering exactly what we promise. Our quotes reflect the true cost of quality work, without hidden shortcuts. Let’s continue to raise the bar in our industry and ensure that our customers receive the value and integrity they deserve. #IntegrityInConstruction #CincyAsphalt
