What do YOU make of the term #NeuroSpicy? Are you for 👍 or against 👎? I was recently tagged in an interesting discussion by Joan Keevill While I, personally, am not a fan 👎 I fully respect people's choice to self-identify in ways that resonate with them... I would advise caution when applying such labels to others though. The term is not yet widely adopted, and its ambiguity could lead to misinterpretation or unintended offense. In my experience, clear and inclusive language is more helpful for fostering understanding and respect. A fun term like this might work well in specific contexts, but it’s always worth considering how widely it’s recognised and whether it might exclude or confuse some audiences (e.g. non-natives, etc.) Curious to hear others' thoughts on how this aligns with creating inclusive spaces... Join the conversation 👇 #Neurodiversity #Inclusion
"Neurospicy" I heard this for the first time today from one of my senior leader apprentices. In case you didn't know what it meant either... 'Many people prefer the term ‘neurospicy’ as a way of describing their differences. And that may be because it offers a more intriguing, fun, and casual way to explain their neurodivergence.' Thoughts, Michael Osborne, Susi Miller ?

Given the rise of #AI, increasing #cybersecurity and regulatory risk, and the continued pace of #digital transformation, it is good to see the most common background for new directors being #technology / telecommunications; next-gen directors accounting for nearly a third of all appointed in 2024. Also interesting to see the increasing focus on industrial expertise.
Did you know that one-third of new S&P 500 directors are serving on their first corporate board? Find out more about the makeup of the new class of board directors in Spencer Stuart's 2024 U.S. New Director and Diversity Snapshot. https://lnkd.in/gfMsh43g

My title changed today at McGuff Companies... Titles have never been a point for me. I’ve always believed it’s about who you are and the impact you make, not what a title says. I’m just one person working to make a difference, finding solutions, empowering others, and building a sense of team—because, ultimately, our goal is to get a little better each day. Titles feel like fluff and noise to me, and maybe that sounds naive, especially with my name on the front door, but it’s who I am and have been. In the Marine Corps, rank didn’t define respect for me; the person did. We were all in it together, on the same team, working toward a common mission. No one person's contribution is more or less than the next. That’s how I view things here, too. No matter what my title is, I’d still be here every day, leading with the same goals in mind. The biggest reward isn’t the title; it’s the smiles I see when I walk into a room full of teammates. Those smiles—even in the thick of challenges—mean the world to me. It’s because of the hard work, dedication, and resilience of these amazing teams that this title change happened, not because of anything else or that I did. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to my teams both current and past for making this journey worthwhile. Y'all built and shaped me and I’m proud to be in it with all of you. #ChooseMcGuff #LeadershipNotes #Leadership #Teamwork #Titles #Promotion #Vision

About a year ago, The Campbell's Company CEO Mark Clouse made the following statement during a keynote presentation to student leaders, "I like to seek out experiences that challenge me. I like to do things that make me a little uncomfortable and that put me in positions where I was learning...where I was trying something that I might not have been great at.” And he's spot on...it's an essential part of what sets leaders apart (no matter what stage of your career). But it was something Mark Clouse announced last week that inspired (and challenged) me in ways that I haven’t felt in some time! If you didn't catch the news, (in essence) one day Mark Clouse is overseeing a $13 billion CPG brand portfolio...and the next he will be leading all facets of business operations for the Washington Commanders (which happens to be my lifelong favorite National Football League (NFL) team). How does this even happen, right? But also...why did this news inspire me personally to such a level that warranted content creation? Well...I'll explore those questions (and more) in my latest first principles thinking content that has extra vulnerable personal information layered in it. #strategy #trends #markets #fmcg #cpg #food #leadership #sports #motivation #inspiration #bestadvice #innovation #marketing #branding #productdevelopment #retailing #merchandising #retail #grocery #business #businessintelligence #entrepreneurship Josh Harris Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment

Graduates- If you want a template on how to get to the top of any industry you decide on and the approach, then watch Tom Brady's Patriots HOF speech. My sporting idol, but more so because he lacked so many obvious, tangible physical skills that were deemed 'necessary' to survive in a sport as rough as the NFL. His work ethic has hardly been seen in sport before, his preparation and mental toughness, ditto. Graduates coming out of University who are feeling that 'only an Oxbridge/Ivy League candidate can get that role/opportunity', plse don't. Watch the Video and realise that this approach can and does transcend all industries, not just on the sporting field. If you prepare for an Interview, you can get a job that you believe is out of your reach and if your work ethic is exceptional, you can get to the top of any industry. #thejobmentor #graduates #careercoaching #interviewtraining https://lnkd.in/eagrsjkv
