🚀 Successfully Deployed a Highly Scalable WordPress Solution on AWS! 🚀 I'm excited to share a recent project where I deployed a WordPress website with high scalability and performance optimization on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Key highlights of the deployment: 🌍 Region: Deployed in the AWS us-west-1 region to ensure low latency for users in that area. 🔄 Auto Scaling: Implemented an Auto Scaling Group based on 60% CPU utilization to handle traffic spikes and ensure seamless performance. ⚙️ Apache Web Server: Hosted the WordPress site on the robust Apache web server for reliable performance. ⚡ CDN Integration: Utilized Amazon CloudFront for global content distribution, reducing load times and enhancing user experience. 🛡️ High Availability & Security: Ensured availability with Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) and enhanced security with AWS WAF. 🗃️ Managed Database: Leveraged Amazon RDS for a highly available and scalable database layer. Set up 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗗𝗡 (𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸) for a static blog that uses WordPress and runs on 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗯 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝘀.  If you look closely, you will see that the image has its actual origin in another server hosted in some distant location (𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻). However, 𝘊𝘋𝘕 𝘤𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 like images, videos etc. When a user requests your content, the CDN serves it from the nearest server, minimizing load times and enhancing the user experience.  On the bottom right you can see that when the user is actually opening the blog to read it, the image comes from the CDN which is near the user instead of the actual source which is far away (𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗱). The blog that you see is actually running in 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗯 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝘀 with WordPress configured and up and running. The static files are being stored in a 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗯 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 Got a practical understanding of CDNs using Azure Cloud and how it supercharges the delivery of your web content by distributing it across a network of servers located around the globe And thank you Swarnali Saha for showing me the way around WordPress. Today, in my 30 Days of AWS Challenge, I explored how to launch and configure a WordPress instance using Amazon Lightsail. Here’s a quick overview of the steps: Steps to Launch and Configure a WordPress Instance: 1. Set Up AWS Lightsail     - Ensure you have the necessary IAM role and permissions configured. 2. Open Lightsail Console     - Navigate to the [Amazon Lightsail Console](https://lnkd.in/gsX553yK). 3. Create an Instance     - Click Create Instance.   - Select Linux/Unix as the platform and WordPress as the blueprint. 4. Configure Instance Details     - Choose your instance plan (e.g., Standard, High CPU).   - Give your instance a name and configure any additional options. 5. Launch the Instance     - Click Create Instance to launch your WordPress instance.   - Wait for the instance to be fully provisioned. 6. Access the WordPress Instance      - Once the instance is running, navigate to the Networking tab in the Lightsail console.   - Find your instance's public IP address and access it in a web browser. 7. Configure WordPress    - Complete the WordPress setup by following the on-screen instructions.   - Use the default username (usually `user`) and the default password found in the instance's Connecttab. 8. I am excited to share my recent cloud project where I hosted a WordPress website leveraging the powerful suite of AWS services! Here's a quick breakdown of the journey: 🔹 VPC Setup: Built a robust 3-tier architecture with a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), enabling seamless networking. Configured subnets, route tables, and internet gateways to ensure secure and scalable communication. 🔹 Storage & Database: Deployed EFS (Elastic File System) for scalable storage and an RDS (Relational Database Service) instance to handle dynamic WordPress data efficiently. 🔹 Load Balancing: Set up an Application Load Balancer to ensure high availability and distribute traffic effectively across multiple EC2 instances. 🔹 WordPress Installation: Installed and configured WordPress to power the website, ensuring a smooth setup on AWS. 🔹 DNS & Security: Managed DNS with Route 53, registered a domain, set up record sets, requested an SSL certificate, and enabled an HTTPS Listener for secure connections. 🔹 Auto-Scaling: Configured an auto-scaling group to scale resources based on traffic dynamically. Also, I created a launch template with a custom shell script for seamless deployments. This project highlighted the true potential of AWS for delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance WordPress websites.
