Maximising Sales and Profits for Multi-Franchise Dealers During an in-depth analysis for a new multi-franchise dealer client, we identified a critical issue impacting sales performance and stock turnover. Specifically, non-franchise vehicles were not being promptly transferred to the appropriate franchise within the group, leading to extended days to sell and reduced stock turn. The root of the issue was the dealer’s initial intent to retail the part-exchange vehicles themselves. However, this approach resulted in some vehicles sitting unsold and only being transferred to the relevant franchise after 51 days. To address this, we recommend implementing a transfer commission system and leveraging tools like Jigcar. By setting up business rules—for example, allowing the original dealer 21 days to sell the vehicle before transferring it to the franchised dealer, dealer groups can maintain a higher stock turn and boost overall sales. This solution not only streamlines stock management but also enhances profitability by ensuring vehicles are sold through the most appropriate channels in a timely manner. March has reflected a distinct change in our business over the past few years. As a franchise dealer system supplier - March was traditionally a slow month - as dealers were focused on the new registration. But, an improved focus on leading independents and a shortening of of our sales process has meant that we have had one of our best March's in years! Our sales team have smashed March for six! Having said that, we are taking orders now for implementation later in the Summer.... In the next few months my aim is to reduce leadtime and improve capacity further by further re-engineering of pur install process.. The aim... To deliver the same high class implementation we always have, using less human resources at certain points in the process - focusing our team where they are really needed.
