Saving for retirement might not be something you think about starting while you’re still reading bedtime stories and going to soft play centres. But opening a pension for your children can set them – and their own future family – up for financial wellbeing. The reality of being an expat in the Middle East can be fantastic, but it's important to plan for your future financial security. Unfortunately, in most cases, there isn’t anything automatically put in place to provide for this. While there is a gratuity linked to your salary, it usually doesn't benefit from regular contributions or compound growth like a pension scheme does. Don't wait until it's too late to start saving! Prioritise your future self and start your retirement planning today. #financialplanning #financialadvisor #investing #financialfreedom #retirementplanning #longterminvesting #financialfreedom

𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡? Sadly, financial planners (c98% of them) charge percentage based fees. They primarily serve those who already did enough to save for retirement… The responsibility truly now sits with each of us to prepare for our financial futures. If you are worried you are falling behind don’t be too hard on yourself, but try to remove friction to enable you to save more tomorrow, tomorrow. Eg - arrange with your employer to have some of every payrise diverted to extra pension contributions: what you never had, you don’t miss! Do you feel confident you are doing enough? #enough #ukretirement #savings

Came across the Scottish Widows Pension Mirror yesterday It predicts your age using your camera on your phone and then tells you the average pension pot size for that age. Having tried it, it got my age spot on but the average pension pot is a lot lower than I thought it would be. Full disclosure, I've not checked if it's per pension pot or total pension savings. Have a go at it, but even if you are well above average, I wouldn't let it deter you from continuing to save. The more you have in your own pension, the more options you are going to have in the future link in comments #pension #retirementplanning #financialplanning
