Applying to an old job posting can be a gamble, given that a job seeker's time is valuable, but there are cases where it's worth it: Posting Still Active: If the job is still listed on the company's website or LinkedIn, there’s a good chance they’re still accepting applications, including referrals. Highly Relevant Experience: If you meet the qualifications closely and have a robust and relevant background, it’s worth applying. A great match can sometimes prompt companies to reopen their search. Strategic or Difficult-to-Fill Role: Companies may take longer to hire for specialized roles that might be harder to fill, even if the posting is older (Here's one at ŌURA: https://lnkd.in/gxe2r5-E - Hannah Siegel). Internal Movement Periods: Many companies review external applications after completing internal candidate considerations, which can delay the process.
