I am glad to announce that I have successfully graduated with an 2:1 in BSc International Business Management from Coventry University!🎓🥳 Sometimes life knocks you out several times during different phases of your life. After facing so many challenges and getting knocked out with setbacks, the only thing I understood was If you have the courage, if you work hard, if you believe in yourself and if you have the will power to move forward and get out of your comfort zone, the comeback will be fenominal and setbacks will be a lesson learned and less greater challenges to overcome in your future. The past 4 years have been an experience that has shaped me as a person. Meeting wonderful people along the way from different parts of the world and building intellectual conversations with many. I thoroughly enjoyed studying the dynamics of Business Management on a global scale, not only when I learned about the global trade of products and services but also the culture and values of different nationalities. I take this great moment to thank everyone that has helped me throughout, in my life all those who stood with me during the hard times, and to those who left. You need both Rejections and Compassion to break you and make you to be a wonderful human being in life. With doubts about my academic ability throughout school, through prayer, continuous dedication, and the support of those I love most, this smile in the picture below represents this all. It holds all the feelings of doubt I have overcome to be the confident young woman I am now, believing in my potential. Today I stand proud and accomplished. Every night, late night study sessions, every challenge conquered brings me here, a graduate, celebrating my journey my success. As I embark on the next chapter of my journey, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. I am delighted to inform you all that I have been accepted into the MSc Management program at the prestigious Imperial College London. After EDHEC Business School, this is another significant achievement for me. Going through the whole process on my own was definitely a huge challenge, but accomplishments like this make all the hard work worthwhile. Having worked on the applications alone, I have gained amazing insights into the application procedure. Some of them include: 1. Start early and get done with your GMAT as soon as possible. 2. Don’t just look at the rankings of the schools. Do a synergy analysis of the schools you plan to apply to with your career goals. Keep in mind the macroeconomic conditions of the school's country, etc. 3. Try to make your SOPs as personal as you can. Don’t forget to highlight even your smallest achievements and your biggest failures. Everything counts! I would love to share more such insights and help people who plan to apply to management programs at top schools abroad. Hi everyone!     I am collating a list of salient points that folks looking to apply for MBA in UK have asked me and my learnings from the process.     A small caveat, this is my experience, which could be significantly different than the experience of members of my cohort. The idea of jotting these points down is to give a broad idea on how I approached the application process.    ▶ Research   Before making the decision on whether to give GMAT or GRE, I made a detailed Excel sheet (snippet attached) of B-schools I would ideally want an admit from. The list consisted of 25 schools. I used QS ranking, Poets&Quants, Sam Weeks LinkedIn, GMAT Club, My MBA Path and (of course) the individual school website to curate the information. The Excel helped me with the following:  - Make a decision to give GRE  - Set expectation of LORs  - More information about schools from an organizational behavior and strategy perspective (areas I wanted to learn)   ▶ GMAT/GRE  I chose GRE over GMAT because I personally felt it was more important to play to my strengths (verbal) than confer to what schools could potentially prefer. I also knew GRE would be manageable with my work at that point of time. I used GregMat, can’t refer him enough - he is fantabulous! to get my prep out of the way.    I gave my first attempt in May, because I wanted to keep a buffer in case I needed to make an attempt again, which in reality I had to. The second attempt was in July and I scored enough to get my foot in the door.    ▶ In general approach to application  Once the worry of GRE was out of the way, I made a list of B schools across countries that I would apply for in each round. This helped me stay on track!    Please be cautious that a lot of the applications deadlines are very close to each other, and each application is unique from an essay perspective. I will deep dive about Oxford application specifically in my next post!    I am also planning to make a post on scholarships!
