Supporting events like this "Shred Like a Girl" Jam in Ohio this past Saturday, is part of what we are all about. We help promote these events throughout the year via our social channels, and we send branded Girl is NOT a 4 Letter Word merch and stickers for prizes and give-a-ways. We feel it is extremely important to support these grass roots events to get more girls and women involved in skateboarding and we applaud the people who put these events together, host them at private skateparks and all the on site work that goes into them! Dead of winter in Ohio and look how many girls showed up - many driving hours to attend. Thanks to all the organizers that rely on us to help support their events. https://lnkd.in/gCfc6CxS

The origins of skateboarding are based in counter-culture. Skateboarders are loud; we disturb quiet hours and may cause some property damage every now and again. (Never me though 👀 ) Beyond that, skateboarding is a community of typically young people who want to earn their skills. Skateboarding will never lie to you; you landed or splatted because of your skills. We gain skills to avoid the consequence of physical pain when falling, and I appreciate the rawness of that. The skate community is woefully underappreciated for their resilience and perseverance to get back up without complaining. As an Indigenous policy analyst, I'm not surprised Indigenous youth all over Canada are making skateboarding their passion; it aligns with their personal resilience of enduring colonization. P.S. - Don't believe everything you see on the internet; even after a decade of skateboarding, I still eat the concrete more than I land my tricks. #FrayedFeathers #Indigenous #IndigneousYouth #YouthReconciliation #Reconciliation #GovernmentofCanada #IndigenousPolicy #Policy #Advocacy

🌍 Today, on International Day for the Elimination of Racism, we are reminded of the importance of being actively anti-racism. At our skateboarding sessions, it's not just about perfecting tricks—it's about creating a safe space that values inclusivity, diversity and belonging. 🛹 Skateboarding is more than just a sport; it's a community. By instilling anti-racist values in our young skaters, we're not only fostering respect and empathy but also ensuring that our sessions remain welcoming and accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. 🚫 Racism has no place in our community. We believe in the power of skateboarding to bring people together, break down barriers, and build connections that transcend race, ethnicity, or nationality. 💪 So let's use this day as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to anti-racism. Together, let's continue to create a skateboarding community where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. 🏙 As our young skaters grow and carry these values into their daily lives, they become agents of change in their neighborhoods and cities. They challenge stereotypes, break down barriers, and foster connections with those from different backgrounds, thus extending our impact beyond our sessions. 💡 In this way, our skateboarding community becomes a catalyst for broader societal transformation. By championing diversity and inclusion, we inspire others to do the same, creating a more tolerant, understanding, and equitable society for all. 💪 So let's continue to skate towards a future where racism has no place, where every person is valued and respected, and where our collective actions make a meaningful difference in the world. #EliminateRacism #CommunityImpact #InclusionForAll

🏐 Community Spirit Shines at Annual Volleyball Tournament 🏐 This past weekend, our local community came alive with camaraderie and joy during our annual volleyball tournament. People of all ages gathered to compete, connect, laugh, and most importantly, have fun 🙂 In our fast-paced professional world, events like these remind us of the simple yet profound joy of community. The prize? A humble banana. The real reward? The sense of togetherness and shared smiles that lit up the day. Why This Matters: 1️⃣ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Sports bring people together, fostering connections that transcend age, background, and profession. 2️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴: Community sports events boost physical and mental health, providing a much-needed break from daily routines. 3️⃣ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: These moments of joy strengthen our community fabric and remind us of the importance of coming together. As professionals, we often focus on metrics and KPIs. But let's not forget the value of community and the simple pleasures of shared experiences. This tournament was a beautiful reminder that sometimes, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆. Founder @EQuerryCo. Brand and marketing strategist focusing on the unique needs of the equestrian industry.
This article by WOSJ truly emphasises that we need more opportunities for younger, up-and-coming riders who don't come from high-net-worth families. It also highlights how investment and sponsor support for female athletes like Cathleen is subpar to the support provided to male riders. If we compete as equals in the ring, should the opportunities made available not be equal? It is not just about leveling the playing field; it's about recognising and harnessing untapped talent and ambition without gender bias. By supporting hard-working, dedicated, up-and-coming riders, we will pave the way for future generations, shaping a more equitable sports landscape. #futureofsports #equestrian #genderequality #womeninsports

Where to find single men Looking for a fun and engaging way to meet single men? Look no further than the Pickleball court. Pickleball, a delightful mix of tennis, ping-pong, and badminton, is a sport that emphasizes fun and social interaction. It's an inclusive game, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels, making it an excellent venue for expanding your social circle and meeting eligible singles. One of the greatest advantages of Pickleball is its relaxed, community-oriented environment. Unlike more competitive sports, Pickleball fosters teamwork and communication, allowing you to see people's true colors on the court. This setting makes it easy to identify supportive, positive individuals, which can be particularly useful when looking for potential romantic partners. The playful atmosphere encourages spontaneous connections and shared laughter, creating a natural backdrop for romance to blossom. For those new to the game, joining a beginner’s clinic or participating in open play sessions can be a fantastic start. These sessions are readily available and provide a laid-back space to meet and interact with others. Whether you're looking to make new friends or find that special someone, Pickleball offers a unique blend of physical activity, social engagement, and the potential for romantic encounters. So grab a paddle and head to your nearest court—you never know who you might meet! https://lnkd.in/dZMszb_g

Youth participation isn’t just about representation 👉🏽 it’s about active involvement in decision-making. ❗️Often, youth involvement is equated solely with athlete representation, overlooking broader youth engagement within organisational decision-making processes.
