https://lnkd.in/ei6UHTaB The CEO. The Headteacher. What do they all have in common? Money and privilege, and as a consequence, we have exploitation and abuse of out most vulnerable children. Allowing rich people to privatise education, especially where it lacks compassion, specialist training, and simple humanity, is problematic. Those who have been named should be ashamed and barred from being around children, including their own. Someone needs to help those children. The council needs to do better. Who is quality-assuring the situation? The Department for Education should be challenging the Ofsted judgement that originally deemed the situation "good" - on what grounds was that assessment made? Who is talking to the children and families? Where are their advocates and champions? What specific actions can be taken to ensure accountability and protect the children affected? Just a reminder of the government's responsibility : quality assuring and ensuring establishments are regulated demanding high quality education and equity for all children by holding the community and stakeholders in settings accountable.

Did you know SB 1380 aims to limit options for parents who live in financially distressed districts? This bill will make it harder for families, especially those in vulnerable communities, to find the best education model for their child. The bill aims to make it challenging to establish new charter public schools in districts that need to be managed better financially. Act now and send an email to ensure that parents have more options for their children's education. #CAcharters https://lnkd.in/gmwUr-H8
