GLAMP is right around the corner, and like all our events, we couldn’t do this without the support of our community. We wanted to send a huge thank you to all our event sponsors, gifts-in-kind donors, and our program partners. These individuals, groups, and companies recognize the importance of supporting girls and women and are allowing us to continue to provide valuable outdoor experiences to kids in our community. I love making these 60 second success stories for two reasons: 1. It's amusing to see how fast I can talk when I have a deadline of 60 seconds. ⏰ (Full disclosure, I did have to put this video on 1.1 speed to hit the goal time!) 2. From the marketing department, it's not often that I have the opportunity to deep dive the stories our customers tell. While the “YMCA” brand is extensively known, one challenge many YMCAs face is that community members do not know how much they rely on volunteers to perform their mission. The YMCA of Northern Alberta sought a way to combat that misconception head-on, in order to boost volunteer recruitment as well as find a unique way to inspire more donations. They know information about volunteering can be readily found on a website or social channels, but they understand stock photos don't convey the full message. They knew real stories from real people would be exceedingly more impactful. So, they set out to collect authentic, boots-on-the-ground volunteer testimonials, without the cost of traditional videographers and interview teams.
