💥📣Maternal and infant morbidity and mortality is a pressing public health crisis and should be treated as such ⚠️🏥 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released reports determining that more than 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are PREVENTABLE. The JAMA, Journal of the American Medical Association released a study last year showing that maternal deaths across the US more than doubled over the course of two decades, with Black mothers dying at rates 3 to 4x higher than white women. We’ve all come from mothers; we’ve all been born. Many of us are mothers or will be one day. Indeed, we’ve all loved someone who has or is getting ready to give birth. The act of labor itself is arguably one of the most traumatic events the human body can possibly undergo. So why is this endemic scarcely known, acknowledged, or discussed? What is being done to address this? Why are women dying to have a baby in 2024, where technological advancements are at an all-time high, in a country with the largest GDP and the highest healthcare expenditure in the world? Our mission at Mother Goose Health is to proactively address rising risk factors, gaps in care, and health-related social needs with a human touch supported by technology. The intersection of medicine & tech profoundly improves healthcare delivery and patient outcomes, and we have the data to support it. BIG things are in the works as we deploy partnerships with physician practices and healthcare systems nationwide. Working in tandem with obstetrical care providers adds an extra layer of support to facilitate a smooth pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum period.
