The year is already a few days old, but my business year officially starts today - and it’s going to be an incredible 2025. 🚀 2024 was a year of challenges, growth, and opportunities - a year that reinforced the importance of strong partnerships and meaningful interactions. As we step into this new chapter, I’m thrilled to continue building on these foundations and exploring new possibilities together. What excites me the most about this year is the chance to collaborate and connect with so many of you. Whether it’s through exchanging ideas, supporting one another in our endeavors, or simply having those inspiring conversations that spark innovation, I’m ready to dive in with full energy. 💡 My focus remains on driving impact, embracing change, and finding creative ways to bring value to the amazing network I’m privileged to be part of. And while the future always carries a bit of uncertainty, I’ve found that it’s the connections we nurture and the actions we take that truly shape our paths. Many more neural pathways were created today…….again (this is happening a lot since I rejoined Vistage UK as a Chair and I couldn’t be happier about that!). Recently, I attended an event in Orlando, Florida, where an unexpected and exciting opportunity was announced! Toward the end of the event, the event host revealed that the editor-in-chief of 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙚 —a renowned national publication that highlights stories of leadership, innovation, and achievement— 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 They planned to select four individuals from the audience to participate in a surprise “𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.” Everyone in the room was given an index card to write the name of their pitch and a brief description. I watched as the room buzzed with energy, with attendees eagerly jotting down their ideas. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲. 𝗪𝗵𝘆? 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱. 𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻, 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲—𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗽. I hesitated, thinking, 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀? 🤷🏽♀️BUT, I decided to get out of my head and my own way and write something anyway. 𝗧𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱! 😮 I shared the heartbeat behind “The Shyne Awards” — why it was created and why it has sustained for 16 years. 𝗔𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 “𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗲” 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿! 🙌🏽♥️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵: · Start before you’re ready. · Don’t let a lack of preparation hold you back from opportunities that could change your life. We are excited to start 2025 off with a very special Employee Spotlight of the Month, Alison Scott. Alison Scott is a Director of our National Program. Alison is multi-talented and excels at managing and leading. She thoughtfully crafts strategies, plans, implements, and guides them to success. She is a team-player as well as thrives as an independent self-starter. Alison is also thoughtful, focused, compassionate, and mission-driven. We are very grateful for Alison and her dedication and hard work to help us serve our mission! Q: How many years have you been with CMC? A: A little over a year. Q: What is your role? A: Director, National Program Q: Why do you like working at CMC? A: I enjoy working at CMC because of the collaborative spirit within our organization and the collective effort to uplift those we serve. This environment fosters teamwork and innovation, allowing us to make a meaningful impact in the centers we serve. Q: Tell us about a specific time you felt you were "doing great things." A: Each time I have the opportunity to engage directly with the centers, I am reminded of the profound impact we are making in the lives of individuals. During one of my visits, I spoke with a participant who had just received her dentures, and hearing about her positive experience with our team reinforced my belief in the importance of our work and the tangible difference we are making in people's lives. Q: What's one interesting fact about yourself most people don't know? A: I won first place in my 3rd grade science fair. Q: Tell us about how your role helps facilities to get care for their residents and participants. A: I am fortunate to engage with the centers from the outset of our partnership. In my role, I gain valuable insights into the unique needs of each center and its participants, allowing me to collaborate effectively with the CMC team to address and fulfill those needs. Q: How does your role help providers? A: I take the time to engage with each provider about the program, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of its purpose, the population it serves, and how CMC seamlessly integrates into its framework.
