𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙚: 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗿𝘁? What is this strange steel and wood sculpture by the Grand Union Canal at Paddington Basin, west London? In the video you can see the mysterious object unfold and become a pedestrian bridge! Then, rather than breaking and lifting up as a rigid element, the Rolling Bridge curls again until its two ends meet. Through an amazing symphony of moving steel the bridge is transformed into an octagon that stands on one side of the canal, without a trace of a  #bridge on the other bank. Is it useful or just art?

How does it work? … How does it become rigid?… luck in tension cables or tubes inside tthe structure once flat on the surface? It is not only creative, but beautiful Art!

Yes, indeed it's like a piece of Art, it resembles a worm with legs, unfolding. And We know that nature is the biggest art of all! Don't we? Thank you for sharing it.

Mr. Masanotti, thank you for taking the time to post all engineering marvels that you share. It is a fun way to learn and appreciate what calculations with creativity can do together.
