✨️On the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, The Soina Foundation stands in solidarity with children who have suffered from violence and conflict. We highlight the urgent need to protect and support these vulnerable children, sharing their stories to raise awareness about the scale and impact of this issue. ✅️We advocate for stronger protections and support systems, calling for international and local policies that safeguard children's rights and provide resources for their recovery and growth. Ensuring access to quality education and mental health services is crucial for helping these children heal and build a brighter future. We urge #communities, #governments, and international organizations to take collective responsibility in creating safe environments where children can thrive. Finally, we recognize the #resilience and potential of children, even those who have been victims of aggression. By #empowering these #children through #education📚 and support, we enable them to become leaders and advocates for peace. 📣 Webinar: A holistic approach to preventing violence against children in schools across the Global South 👉 RSVP: https://bit.ly/3rTojXl Roughly 2 out of 3 children across Africa experience physical and sexual violence at home, school, and community. Preventing violence against children in schools, where children spend a large proportion of their time presents a unique opportunity to influence children's childhood experiences and their future. Whole-school approaches address the concerns of the entire school and have been found to be particularly effective in preventing school violence.

A SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER. MEDIA TEAM LEAD (VOLUNTEER, BRIDGES INITIATIVES) AND A FREELANCE JOURNALIST.
IMPACT OF WAR VIOLENCE ON CHILDREN War violence has a devastating impact on children, affecting not just their physical health, but also their emotional well-being and overall development. Children are vulnerable to physical injuries, psychological trauma, displacement, loss of loved ones, disruption of education, and even forced recruitment and exploitation. The effects of war violence can be long-lasting, leading to a cycle of violence that perpetuates conflict and instability in communities. Addressing the impact of war violence on children requires comprehensive efforts from international organizations, governments, NGOs, and communities. Providing physical protection, psychological support, access to education and healthcare, and opportunities for healing and recovery are crucial steps in promoting peacebuilding initiatives and mitigating the effects of war violence on children. Together, we can create safer, more stable environments for children to grow and thrive. #warviolence #children #peacebuilding. writen by Iziegbe (Patience)O picture inspired by Google search.

The current approach to youth justice in Australia is not working – but the solution is not treating children in the justice system like adults. Mena Waller, Queensland Director of 54 reasons, says “The recent Queensland LNP proposal to treat children as young as 10 in the justice system as adults goes against all available evidence on the best way to reduce children's contact with the system. Children and young people in contact with the justice system often have significant experiences of homelessness, poverty, racism, violence, or worse. ‘Tough on crime’ approaches harm children and young people who need better. A trauma informed, rights based approach must be the priority. Human rights, medical and legal experts emphasise that investing in and prioritising early intervention measures that address the root causes of offending is what makes communities safer." We welcome the news that frontline domestic and family violence (DFV) responders will receive a much needed boost as part of $4.4 billion in new funding, announced by the Federal Government today. Importantly, the funds will enhance responses between states and Commonwealth, enabling greater coordination to support individuals and families affected by DFV. They will also boost funds for legal services, which are much needed on the ground, particularly for victim-survivors from migrant and refugee backgrounds, who often have the layered complexity of visa issues in the mix. SSI has undertaken extensive advocacy work to highlight the needs of children in DFV situations, with a particular focus on multicultural communities, and it was welcome to see the investment in outcomes for children subjected to DFV, their post separation support and intergenerational experience of violence. To thrive in Australia, children from diverse backgrounds need to be a target group in policy, programming and action to overcome adversity. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ggMuaHZY

International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is celebrated today to acknowledge the pain and suffering experienced by children who are victims of physical, mental, and emotional abuse due to conflicts and aggression. Every child has the right to a happy, educational, and safe upbringing. However, violence and strife destroy this dream for millions of youngsters around the world. Let's come together on this day to bring attention to their situation and pledge to make a meaningful change. There's hope in the midst of the darkness. Together, we can create a future free from the specter of violence and war for all children. To make a difference, we must incorporate changes in today's society like * Increase Awareness * Create global funds dedicated to child protection and rehabilitation in conflict zones. * Enact and implement national laws that align with international standards for child protection. * Train law enforcement, military personnel, and humanitarian workers on child rights and protection. * Create safe spaces within communities where children can access education, healthcare, and psychosocial support. * Provide educational programs for children to build resilience and empower them to advocate for their own rights. If it's not now, it will be never, it's time to act #A4CONSERV STANDS TOGETHER TO TURN THE TIDE AS TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE #A_message_of_hope #Every_child_deserves_better #Lets_stand_for_the_innocent_life #Every_Child_Matters #Safe_Childhoods #a4cCon #a4Conserv #Sustainability_Solution
