💪 To create stronger support systems for mental well-being in vulnerable communities, we organised a refresher session on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for the staff of the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CAR) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 🎯 20 CAR team members, who had previously completed a comprehensive 10-day MHPSS training, came together to further sharpen their skills with guidance from clinical psychologists. This will help them in continuing to provide essential psychosocial support to Afghan refugee communities. 💡 Participants handpicked critical MHPSS topics to pass on to their own teams - health workers, outreach volunteers, and desk officers - ensuring that the ripple effect of support reaches even more individuals in need. On behalf of the German development cooperation, we're investing in these skills for building resilience, widening access to mental health services, and strengthening the networks that provide critical support to vulnerable communities. #StrongerTogether #MentalHealth #PsychosocialSupport #MHPSS Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)

4dIt's great to see such initiatives. Strengthening the capacity of line departments in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) is essential for effectively responding to the needs of target communities. This capability-building ensures they can provide timely and relevant support, especially during crises, fostering long-term resilience and culturally appropriate care for vulnerable populations.
