Be intentional about the culture you need! People, processes, technology and marketing are the big buckets I've been tackling since I started at Kundert Construction. It all starts with people. We've made some changes on our team that have truly helped drive that new culture forward and we couldn't be more excited! Anyway - check out this short clip about culture and SMASH that subscribe button while you're over there! #culture #culturematters #peopleprocesstechnology https://lnkd.in/g5GGp3DQ

"Cities Aren't Unwritten" In her 2018 article in the Tyee, Melody Ma argues that "cities are not blank canvases. They are organic living beings that reflect their people and their cultures, histories and aspirations." This is her counterpoint to the massive Oakridge Mall redevelopment in the heart of Vancouver, which she sees as "part of a global pattern of imposing formulaic, placeless mega-developments." It seems a very timely (re-)read as we continue planning the future of the Metro Vancouver region - i.e., the bold and imaginative new cities emerging on former shopping centre parking lots, and the large transit-oriented developments on both greenfield and brownfield parcels; and the more 'surgical' precision that will be needed to evolve our established inner-city neighbourhoods. https://lnkd.in/gDYJ5nc9

Great buildings & designs can help enhance cultures, but your building is not your culture. The culture is the ecosystem of Thinking, Acting & Interacting that takes place between humans in all you do. Authentic & growing cultures feel alive in the buildings & flow beyond. Cheers to all the great people & places out there that are intentionally setting the temperature for their culture! #thermostatcultures #breathingoxygen

03 The Culture Change We Desperately Need The Grenfell Tower Tragedy Changed Everything. The Grenfell Tower tragedy exposed critical safety, regulation, and accountability failures across the construction and architecture industries. Despite progress through the Building Safety Act and other reforms, cultural change remains urgent. Real transformation requires top-down leadership and grassroots action, prioritising safety at every stage of the design and construction process. Drawing lessons from corporate turnarounds at Microsoft and Starbucks, we explore how leadership and collaboration can drive a cultural shift. By adopting the marginal gains approach – making small, incremental improvements across the industry - we can collectively build a safer, more accountable built environment. The Grenfell Inquiry has given us a roadmap; it’s time to act. 🔗 Read our latest article: https://buff.ly/41dZZ1D Join the conversation and let’s create meaningful change together. #BuildingSafety #CulturalChange #Architecture #Construction

Explore how we’re rethinking spaces that restore, connect, and elevate everyday interactions. It only takes a few moments... When you walk into an establishment, it only takes a couple of minutes to realize whether or not you are in a place that has a great culture attached to it. And when you walk into a senior living community, it's no different. Where does great culture begin? With great leadership. I'm very fortunate to be in senior living communities around Texas and Florida often. I get to witness what great culture looks like and see first hand how leadership steers that ship. And great culture can be a major success factor if you're doing a planned renovation project. Even when The Bridge Group Construction has a simple construction project, in an occupied senior living community, there will be challenges to overcome. That's part of the process! But when there's a great culture in the building, it exudes into the project work and creates a smooth and desired outcome. Being on the same page, and on the same team is crucial in getting past those little bumps, challenges, and all the changes along the way. In the senior living industry, team members understand this better than anyone because they realize that there are bigger, more important things than a delayed delivery of a faucet or a light. So thank you... Thank you to the community team members - for keeping these things in context!
