The World Energy Council scenarios (‘Rocks’ and ‘Rivers’) 2024 version is essential reading. Refreshed insights include: fragmentation of geopolitical world order; growing consciousness of planetary boundaries; effects of new technologies like artificial intelligence; reorientation of global north and south populations; and emerging new regional economic trading blocs with China and India. That's a wrap for the inaugural Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition in Milan, and what an action-packed three days with lots of dialogue and collaboration.   It was an honour to participate in the impactful Leadership Roundtable about ‘new approaches to a multidimensional transition’ on day two. The message was clear that the technologies for hard-to-abate-sectors are now available... but a continued focus on innovation to bring costs down remains a challenge. Finance community agility is also going to be crucial to monetise and de-risk more FOAK and lighthouse projects.   Carbon Clean's mission is to deliver industrial decarbonisation on a gigatonne scale through innovative #carboncapture technology that mitigates the impact of climate change.   A final shout out to dmg events for convening so many business leaders driving key energy transition ventures.
