Their is a need to establish a consistent national tax policy as a cornerstone for economic stability and governance. Such a policy serves as a blueprint, guiding the creation of finance bills and ensuring they align with the long-term fiscal objectives of the nation. Without it, finance bills risk becoming disjointed, subject to annual alterations that can lead to unpredictability and instability in the tax landscape. A well-defined tax policy promotes transparency, allowing citizens and businesses to plan their finances with confidence. It also fosters trust in the government's fiscal management, as policies are not arbitrarily modified but are instead part of a considered, strategic approach to national growth and development. Moreover, a national tax policy can streamline the legislative process, as finance bills would simply act as instruments to implement the already established fiscal framework, rather than as vehicles for introducing new, potentially unvetted tax measures. In essence, a national tax policy is not just a document; it's a commitment to fiscal foresight, coherence, and the economic well-being of the country's present and future.
