A journey that began over 8 years ago with the creation of the Cymru Copier Scheme, a solo Scheme that has gone on to create employment, empowerment and social engagement and mobility for over 500 individuals, often individuals who may have once been considered as being furthest from employable and in regions that are still affected by long-term socio-economic legacy impactors. Fast forward 8 years and we're now 8 Cymru Schemes Strong! That we're beginning to see make significant positive impacts across a broad range of environmental, sustainable, economic innovation and industrial re-development drivers. The bold ambition and mission behind the Well-being Wales Programme has been to improve the quality of people's lives in a very real sense, from improving the very air they breathe, to tackling social inequality and even arresting and hopefully reversing the significant and urgent impacts affecting our most precious biodiversity and environment. Contra Deals: A Win-Win Approach In today’s economy, not everyone has the immediate resources to fund an aftermarket domain name purchase. Which is why we offer a variety of options such as payment plans, and the very popular “try before you buy” opportunity. There is another option that we have used in the past, and that is the “contra deal”. This method is brilliant for getting the most out of a domain name and sealing a deal – especially when the buyer can’t or won’t meet your asking price (or come close to it). I still remember my first contra deal very fondly! It was around 10 years ago, and the domain I sold was a cracking one in the hotel booking sector – two words with high search volume. The buyer was a boutique hotel chain with properties in most major cities. It ended up as the equivalent of a 5-figure sale. Star Hotel** - When two wrongs make anything but a right Last week’s post considered one of the leading cases in relation to a failure to follow the specific requirements of a trust instrument when appointing a beneficiary. In that case, the failure to validly appoint a beneficiary caused significant difficulties due to subsequent purported distributions of income to the party. In summary, it was held as follows: 1 The attempted distribution of income to an invalidly appointed ‘beneficiary' is a nullity. 2 On this basis, the distribution can be set aside as void ‘ab initio' – in other words, the distribution itself is taken to never have occurred (this aspect of the decision relied on an earlier case of Re Cavill Hotels Pty Ltd [1998] 1 QdR 396. In Australia, New Zealand and the UK, rental property owners pay residential property rates, which are upto four times lower than commercial property rates. Yesterday, on behalf of the British Association (San Antonio), I had a positive meeting with Neus Mateu, the acting Mayor of San Antonio Ibiza, to talk about all the recent negative headlines. The misinformation from the UK press & the Balearics governments lack of clarification has only added to the confusion so just to recap 1. The affected area is the ‘West End’, which is only a few streets in San Antonio. 2. There are no all inclusive hotels in the West End so the ‘6 drink rule’ does not apply anywhere in San Antonio or Ibiza. 3. There are no bar crawls in the West End and haven’t been for years. 4. There are no party boats in the West End (it’s a pedestrianised area). 5. It’s only shops & supermarkets in a very small area that can’t sell alcohol from 9.30pm-8am (30 mins earlier than previously). 6. Nothing to see here. 7. Business as usual for all bars & restaurants in San Antonio & Ibiza.
